It has been a long time since I've been THIS optimistic about the season!
Qb is solid and on the ascendancy, the D is stacked upfront, even ST has been COMPETENTLY addressed.
Wr's are playmakers, ditto Te, and Miller is quietly becoming an elite type of Rb.
Juwan James did not bust, RT is solid, Douglas looks solid, and Pouncey is healthy
Cb, Grimes is Grimes, we are looking at #2 but have a solid #3 in McCain
I think we will do well this yr, playoffs are in reasonable reach, reminds me of SD in the early 00's

A lot of us are way more optimistic than in years past. Our Achilles heel though is lack of depth in many crucial areas, so the big question is whether our key starters stay healthy. If yes, we have a good shot at the playoffs.

From my pov, we have two guys who are "cannot go down"
Jordan and Jones
We have no one behind them -
Been years since I felt this good going into a season, but the pessimist in me is worried that it is a mirage.
I will feel much better if we kick the snot out of Washington next week. -

My greatest worry is teams exploiting our weak LB group. And I still see no way we cover TE's.
I sense a lot of dink and dunk offense coming at us. That's the only logical answer for our DL that can pass rush and stuff the run. -
Either way, not having to worry about the opponent running right up the middle, without weakening other positions (we had this LB issue last year too), means our defense should be better overall.Piston Honda likes this. -
It helps the D a lot that OV and Wake have played stand up Lb before -
Kraken and Kong..two physical freaks..add in Jenkins and Grimes
