Well Deej , like all of us , you have been wrong before and think this is another time that you are.

We have SO many issues , RT is not one of them imo . Sure he needs to improve , but he has and is , and he isn't getting a lot of help in many games.

OL was AWFUL today and somehow he's never supposed to be affected by that , we could have used some of that pass rush and assetiveness from our D today , but of course that was missing , yet again.

Same old from this franchise but it's not on 17 imo , there's a dozen other things that need to be better , cleaned up , improved more than RT , imo .

While some of your criticism might have some validity, the moment you state he does not make plays i discount your post as just frustration without content.

I agree with DJ's posts except for the part that says I'm out, but I can respect that.

Tanny has just ascended to Matt Ryan level statistics. But they're just that, statistics. DJ wants a certain level of playmaking in his QB, nothing wrong with that. He doesn't have to be Michael Vick back there, but hell Tony Romo and Big Ben aren't huge runners even, but they have that pocket feel which are elite. But you can't learn or teach that. Tanny's never had it, will probably never have it. That's an intangible that cannot be learned

and you ever notice until this year Romo has choked every year? and finally he put it together? so where was this skill as he choked year after year? again context

Big Ben? heis huge and hard to bring down. and his defense has made plays for him

Doesnt mean RT will reach those levels but context is needed. when the defense is this pathetic, making the focus the QB is ridiculous IMO

It looked like he was doing well with "pocket feel" in the second half of the Packers game. I'm wondering if it's something that is slowly making its way into his game? I mean, I would think that once he fully knows the offense and knows where everyone else is, that he'll be able to do a better job of getting himself into position to avoid sacks and/or make plays.

I also wonder if Tanny is taking on the personality of his coach, who clearly isn't all that in to improvisation. IMO, it would have been nice to see what Harbaugh could do with him, because that guy has gotten a lot out of his quarterbacks.

Bullsh**. Even before this year Tony Romo has had the highest 4q QBR of all time, of ALL TIME, 102.9 as of last season. He makes one mistake and they replay it the rest of the year, and it clouds the judgment of Romo. See, it's worked on you.

Prior to this year, from 2011-2013 he led the league in 4th quarter comebacks. Prior to this year he had a QBR of 93 in the final two minutes of a game, highest in the active league.

The problem in Dallas was NEVER about Romo.

BS throw your stats around all you want. cant call RTs stats BS if your going to use them for someone else. thats BS

Fact is look at Dallas' record in December the last how many years? how many times have they missed the playoffs after a late season slide? but of course it was the defense right? yet our defense is equally pathetic yet it isnt their fault? this is definitely a selective cherry picked argument

for folks that know me somewhat, unlike posters like this who just got here and act like their opinion matters, when I say "I'm out I mean after three years of intensely watching a guy, I don't feel we can win a superbowl with him.. I will explain when I have more time.. In short, just know this, games are won in a small confined area of the pocket, for all of you who want the pocket qb to lead us to the promise land you are not getting a pocket qb who can Maneuver in that critical area, so you better be utilizing every once of his athleticism and skillset and from what we saw today the qb nor the coordinator did nothing of the sorts, and I mean nothing... Think about it.. Do you U derstand that the man DID NOT MOVE.. He didn't break the pocket one freakin time yall, lol he didn't run once, didn't break right or left, coordinator didn't call one roll or naked... And believe me when I tell you it was there for the taking.. ITs ok if you don't trust my opinion, fine but I will continue to tell you what I saw and felt.

QB's who eat grass dont play well. He was eating grass all day. That is on the OL. All that and he didnt go put up a Johnny Football stat line he had a decent day.

    Way to over react.

they will just tell you 4000 yards like that means something when you throw the ball as much as we do, most QBs (the top ten QBs) would throw for a lot more yards on the amount of attempts that RT had. Most fans dont understand intangibles like you are trying to explain to them, your just wasting your time trying to explain that to them.

Good thing decisions aren't made by fans. Opinions aren't facts. I don't agree with DJ, but he's entitled to his beliefs. Don't get so worked up. Fans (like myself) that see Ryan's progression are looking forward to another year behind a better oline. All season he's been our biggest playmaker. He's improved his accuracy tremendously, his pocket awareness improved, his decision making was great. He has earned a contract, in my opinion.

as well as your entitled to do so. I just see it as BS. sorry, its a single natured focus. yes there were a few times that he could have ran that I think he tried to hard to make a play downfield. but to say we cant win with him is ridiculous IMO

remember the days with Zack and JT that 24 points was almost a guaranteed win? well we scored that in numerous games. Rt wasnt perfect and can get better, but he isnt the reason we are 8-8. IMO we are 5-11 or worse without Tannehill

I think you're wrong about RT, way out in left on this one. he is the franchise QB & rated in the top ten in the NFL in his third year. he has all the intangibles to be an elite & I am confident he will do so...

I'm just saying 4000 yards isn't that impressive when you realize how much we threw the ball this year. It would of been a true disappointment had he not thrown for 4000 yards based on the amount of attempts he had. His low INT count is more impressive IMO.

I know you havent, but there are a couple that has said Rts stats are meaningless and have touted Romo as this elite qb. when his teams past failures which coincidentally mirror ours in a lot of ways, is mentioned his stats are brought as to why it wasnt Romos fault. in essence using the same arguments people that support Tannehill use that they brush off as ridiculous. the criteria changes to fit their argument

I get that you want a QB that runs for 1st downs. We don't have that. Oh well. He's still damn good even though he isn't Russell Wilson like you want. 4,000 yards passing and a TD/INT ratio of 2.25 to 1. In his 3rd year. We can win big with this dude...

Meanwhile... we allowed a perfect passer rating to Geno freakin Smith. We CAN'T win with that.

The defense allowed 32.5 ppg the last 6 games of the season .. The offense averaged 23.9 ppg the last 6, which was pretty close to their season avg. of 24.2.

I know DJ is one of the most thoughtful posters on this forum, but I just can't agree with your assessment that we can't win with Tannehill. This collapse falls squarely on the defense, and the o-line being suspect (as usual)

Can you name the last QB to win a game that got hit 15 times? That or just go by sacks. Who was the last QB to win a game that was sacked 7 times..

Even the Golden Boy has a ****ty record when he is actually touched.

I hope I'm wrong D, i feel like what Ive been saying about his game is accurate, he's not proving me wrong thus far, I said before I think I could win regular season games but I'm afraid that his game isn't good enough to win it all once you see the tremendous pressure that awaits in the playoffs

He cetainly needs to improve but it's hard to watch today's game and think he's the problem. He wasiterlybgetribgbhit every other play because his ol can't block. When they do, they usually commit a penalty.

And let's not even begin to discuss our defense that gave up 37 points to the 27th ranked offense and made geno smith look all pro.

I hate stats, I havent used stats to argue for rt or against romo. stats for qb are majorily team driven. but to say we cant win with RT when we have a defense this pathetic is so similar to dallas the last few years. yet to say in that case it wasnt romo when he hasnt performed any better in those situations than Rt has. and by that isnt stats, Romo has not had any better success in overcoming the defensive shortcomings as RT has. diff this year? Dallas defense much better and getting off the field. making plays. better oline play and bryant maturing on the field. lots of reasons.

Maybe RT never reachess that level. again. But I dont see him as teh rerason we are 8-8. how many let leads did the defense blow?

The pathetic D lost this game for us. The OL as well. Injuries just caught up with us. I believe the team was on their 3rd string RT. Losing Albert was really bad and it hurt the whole OL. These LBs aren't stout enough and just can't make tackles. The DBs just s--t the bed today. I've had some criticisms of Tanne, but he has shown good improvements. This loss was on the D and OL.
