This made me laugh. I needed that, after seeing Tannehill get injured. I guess even Ironman isn't totally immune to injury.GreysonWinfield likes this. -
I hope all the Tannehill haters are happy now.

Moore is one hell of a quarterback and loved by his teammates....he's the ultimate leader on-field and off. His career QBR is largely affected by the season he played with concussions in Carolina- he never should have been on the field in that situation. Since then through, he's been solid in Miami with a 7-3 overall record as a starter.
So yes, he's by far our best option at this time...probably a better option than Romo or Manning with only 3 weeks left in the season. He's slightly more accurate than Tannehill and quicker to launch a ball deep, but he also tends to turn the ball over more often with his aggressive play style. I am not worried about Moore though; I'm worried about how Gase uses him and adjusts.
Ultimately, Moore is probably good enough to start elsewhere, and he explored being traded a few years back for the opportunity. His wife really wanted him to stay in Miami though so that's what they did....hopefully that will make some of you feel a little better about him. -
gase is supposed to be the qb whisperer, maybe he can make something out of moore
-
Moore has had spots of success in the past and Gase is supposed to be a QB whisperer so he should be able to maximize Moore's abilities. Time will tell.
It makes no sense to bring in a QB off the streets who has no familiarity with the offensive scheme or teammates (for any QB who may have played for Gase before).dolphin25 likes this. -
I'm not a huge Tannehill fan but I've never wanted to bench him for anyone we had on this bench. Compared to Matt Moore, Tannehill is Joe Freaking Montana.

Interesting no one ever calls out the people labeling others as "Tannehill lovers," etc.Fin D likes this. -
Outside of a small contingent of uneducated fans, no one is dumb enough to think Moore is better than Tannehill. There are those who wanted to see him elevate his play. Doesn't mean they wanted this. -
He's a gunslinger which always makes me really nervous. Defense better get ready to play tired because Moore is going to throw a lot of picks.

I'd take a churro vendor over Moore, personally.
Edit, I wouldn't take doughty over Moore or that churro vendor though.Last edited: Dec 11, 20163Pmi likes this. -
With a defense full of backups and special teamers, I doubt it. -

Plenty of people have taken shots at me, FinD, Adam, and a couple others. I rarely, if ever, have seen anyone call out the people we argue with. It's always, the "TDF" needs to stop labeling, or arguing, etc.Fin D likes this. -
It's impossible to do a search but the labels in my maybe not correct opinion came heavily from the other side. I'm not a tannehater but because I'm not a Tannelover I get called one. Someone accused me of thinking he's trash just today. I won't name names but I think he wears rights and works at the daily planet. :smile:dolphin25 likes this. -

Favre is wearing that copper fit fanny pack now. He's good to go. We need to call him asap.

As nervous as Matt Moore makes me, I'm pretty confident in our team as a whole to win two more games. Hell, New England won three without Tom Brady -- why can't we?
-
Okay, so I've had a few hours to calm down. Moore is a good backup QB, average starter. If.... IF we get the Unicorn line back, Jay puts in some 100+ yd games? Why can't we win our remaining games? Defense and Special Teams will need to take up some of the slack, but assuming we don't get hosed by the refs yet again (big assumption, I know) we should be competitive in every remaining game.
Plus, maybe Gase can elevate Moore's game? We'll know the answers to these questions soon enough I guess.Phins_Fan_87 likes this. -

Because we're not New England? -

Here is a bit of a crazy idea. First and foremost, under this scenario, Matt Moore remains our starting QB. But what do you guys think about giving Johnny Manziel a workout/see if he is currently on or off drugs. We are not investing in Johnny as a long term option, but we are looking at him for the next month. Hopefully, he could use this as an opportunity to prove to other teams that he has changed. Ultimately, we are asking him to keep his nose clean for about a month or so.
The upside would clearly be his athleticism. We could use him for some wildcat plays, and if anything happens to Matt Moore, he did start a few games last season.
Before you guys shoot this down, think about it. Don't think about him as a long term option; think about us renting an athletic QB for a month to be our backup. It doesn't sound that crazy. -
