Isaako was just cut by the Jets after they signed a punter named Malone. He could go to the Dolphin practice squad?

I expect you're right about that. Wonder if they pick up one of the practice squad players onto the 53 man roster in place of David Garrard, and then put Aaitui in that player's roster spot.

Nice catch. I'd expect him back as well. Dolphins told him they wanted him if he got thru waivers.
I wonder if David Canter is talking about the Jets here...

I'm not sure a defensive linemen is going to be able to tell our opponents information that is all that valuable.

Aaitui out for season, plot thickens
Per Canter's tweets....
My assumption is that the waiver agreement was with the Dolphins and transferred to the Jets when they claimed Aaitui (and therefore his contract) off waivers Saturday.
I noticed that his contract was thru 2013. So any team claiming him would get another year. -
The Jets play the Bills this week. So why didn't they claim a waived Bills player if that was their primary reason for making waiver claims? -
I would hope/assume this waiver was solely between he and the team and doesn't affect whatever insurance he has/had with the league.
That's the other great thing about IR. Not only would he be getting paid, but he'd be rehabbing at team headquarters and dealing with team doctors. He misses out on that and a $390,000 salary.
I'm sure he's had better days.Bpk likes this. -
Yea but whose going to sign a player whose going to be out for the year?

NFLdraftScout.com states he was coming off a knee surgery, maybe that's it. Too bad for him thought he looked pretty good in the preseason.
Despite the fact that he's playing after suffering a partially torn ACL in his left knee in the spring — an injury that did not require surgery — and a cast on his left forearm, Aaitui couldn't be happier.

Yeah Canter was saying on twitter it was a waiver for an old injury that got him cut, the one from college reoccurring perhaps.
-
Did he get re-injured?
-
I mean, I can't find any solid info. But based on all the information out there. It leads me to believe he injured his knee. Which would likely require season ending surgery. Its speculation, but based on all the tidbits out there. -
i injured my knee too yesterday playing basketball, its swollen like hell, gonna have an MRI today...never had anything like this before...kind of anxious....well see what happens..could be i'm done for the season

hmmm... I hadn't heard about the injury thing with the Jets, but after watching HK tonight and then remembering they had cut him earlier in the day, I was hoping he'd be back with Miami on the practice squad. He sure didn't look like he was happy to be heading elsewhere. Clearly we wanted him to clear waivers and make the PS. I guess that's out now. How many kids did the man have, 3, living with his gf? Maybe he and Root can make some cash singing on the side... :shifty:.... Hope he makes it back with us next year. Can never have enough strong Samoans.

EDIT... reading what Canter wrote again, still a bit fuzzy on this as it seems he along with the NFLPA / comp attorney are going to fight the Jets over the injury thing. If the player wins the fight, you could see the Jets having to pay him (either thru a settlement or IR, although the IR seems likely now with the way it has ended). Seems Tui hurt his knee up there, which is a damn shame. Hope he ****s the Jets for all that they have though....and then next year he comes back for us. :yes:Last edited: Sep 5, 2012 -
It's interesting Canter is saying doubtful for Tui ever to end up a Fin again. Is he bitter about Miami cutting him too?
Fact of the matter is Kacy Rodgers said he'd jump up on a table for the guy to continue being a part of the team, and everyone seemed really worried he'd get poached off waivers (which he did). Even if he can't practice all year because he's injured, even if he has to wait until next off season to sign a futures contract, I would think based on what we've seen that the Dolphins would love to have him back next training camp. But Canter says "doubtful" knowing full well that Tui won't be signing with any team in 2012. Why?
Logically, it either means:
1. He doesn't want Tui to sign with the Dolphins
2. He thinks something will change between now and then to where the Dolphins don't want him back -

so i just saw the final episode did Aaitui knock out Jake and Jarrell Root ? and then he is tearing his ACL and MCL poor guy...he looked really good
