Bills looked like they were in midseason form today. Firing on offense and defense against an above average Team in Washington on the road. We're on the road again next week and yes we had a very good game today, but the Broncos are not the Bills Defense.
Even though we were up early the broncos were able to come back pretty quickly to within a touchdown twice in the first half.
I think it will be a close low scoring game maybe, but I'm really hoping our defense matures for this game. We can't afford any missteps.
Im preparing myself mentally for an L and I won't be that upset if we play them hard. Hope I'm wrong and Allen tosses three picks and were able to run / pass effectively next week.
I would be super impressed with a 4-0 start!

Loser talk. The days of "I'm expecting a loss but I sure hope they win" are long over.
Miami needs to cement themselves as the alpha of this division next week. 75 and sunny in Buffalo next Sunday. Take it to them.firedan, Mexphin, Csonka Marino and 7 others like this. -
Their defense had 5 takeaways (4 INTs and a fumble recovery) that they’re unlikely to replicate against us. It’s going to be a tough game though. Buffalo is no joke. But I’m still surprised oddsmakers have them favored after what we just did. Anyway, we have to earn the #1 seed and it starts in Buffalo.

Not saying we're going to beat the Bills in Buffalo but did you watch the Commanders game? They are NOT an above average team. Their QB threw multiple horrible interceptions that were all his fault and their offense was completely unimaginative. The team we beat by 50, the Commanders barely beat by 2.
As for the Bills, Allen threw another INT and they barely had to drive the length of the field once due to the turnovers.
The Bills-Commanders game is no reason to be scared for this game.texanphinatic, resnor, Dorfdad and 2 others like this. -
Don’t believe the hype. The Redskins are NOT all that. The hype coming into this game was the Broncos were a GOOD team tha lost their first two games by 1 and 2 points. This wasn’t going to be a high scoring game. Without Waddle, Hill was going to be shut down, etc, etc, etc…
Buffalo isn’t really all that. Allen was only 20/32 for 218 yards, 1TD, 1 Int and 1 rushing TD. The Bills had 1 rushing TD and 1 pick 6. They kicked 3 field goals.
Allen’s performance against the Dolphins has consistently declined as well…and going up against our defense? Ha!!!
And the Bills have to defend the number 1 offense in the NFL?
McDaniel has the 24 hour rule. ENJOY the win for 24 hours. Celebrate, relish in the win but come Monday? That game no longer exists. It’s gone. It means nothing. Time to get to work for our next opponent.
Seems to be an effective philosophy.Csonka Marino, resnor and Dorfdad like this. -
Its going to be a difficult game. We caught them really banged up and almost got them in Buffalo a year ago, but they're closer to full health now, and the defense is for real. I'm more concerned with finding a way to keep Tua upright and avoid cheap, dirty hits than I am putting up a ton of points. Our defense is going to need to play soundly, wrap up, and not let Diggs and the others find gaping holes in the zone.
Buffalo's defense isn't invincible, but they're really tough, and especially at home. Our own defense will have to play better than they have the first three weeks to hold the Bills offense down.Bumrush, Tuanon4Life, dolphin25 and 3 others like this. -
The only thing that would make me worried about this game is if Connor Williams is out.
If Connor Williams plays, I am confident Miami will win.
In fact, there isn't a game this season where I am not confident Miami will win if they don't have any unfortunate injuries.
The only thing that stopped Miami's offense against the Chargers was Miami.
The only thing that stopped Miami's offense against New England was Miami.
Miami didn't do anything to stop themselves against Denver and they scored 70.
This is a generational offense. Miami is breaking records.Bumrush, Springveldt and Dorfdad like this. -
I respect them and I respect the matchup. I believe they're capable of beating us. But I also believe that on our best day, we're better than Buffalo. I'm still hurt that we let them off the hook in the snowy game last December. People were saying Tua didn't play well in cold weather and he took it to them harder than he did in the earlier win in Miami. It'll come down to whether we play a clean game. If we don't get a bunch of penalties (Connor...) or have unforced turnovers (CONNOR..!), we're good. And I think they know it.

You started watching the Dolphins at the tail end of Marino and never saw his greatness. Imagine seeing the Dolphins win their 2nd Super Bowl…then see them in the Super Bowl 8 years later, only to lose…see them in the Super Bowl 2 years after that, only to lose again and never see it since.

Honestly I think they are the favourites with the average fan going into this game. The Bills average about one home defeat a year in the last couple of seasons, and most of our games in Buffalo since they've had Allen have not gone well for us. I think Miami's record against the Bills home and away in the last 5 years is something like 1-10. I've not forgotten the game 2 years ago in Miami where we put up a bagel with Jacoby under centre.
Now onto the positives, last season we played them 3 times and we played them close 3 times including a playoff game where despite lacking our starting QB we gave ourselves chances to win it. We look better this year so far than we did last season and so logic dictates that we our close loses should become wins, but sadly football isn't played with logic and there's no guarantee of anything until the game is done.
Tyreek finally knowing the playbook and Tua being more confident with the playbook is currently paying dividends and out of nowhere we've cobbled together an O-Line that actually look competent at their jobs. Everyone is slowly starting to get healthy again and the return of Waddle into an offense that scored 70 yesterday can only be a boon.
I've seen a few complaints that the media aren't taking Miami seriously yet. Winning in Buffalo will do that. No matter how good we all think this Dolphins team are at this moment in time, we'll just be a fun gimmick story with the media until we start consistently competing and beating teams like Buffalo and KC. This time next week, this team could have a very different story being told about it.Dorfdad, dolphin25 and Springveldt like this. -
The Bills do have the offence to hang 30 on us so they are one of the few teams I think are capable of beating us. Their problem this year is that they cannot stop the run and the Dolphins have proved over the last 2 games that they can run the ball very, very well. That's probably going to be the difference in this game I think. They won't be able to sit in a 2 high shell to cover Hill and Waddle and they are going to have to pick their poison while the Dolphins will probably try and force Buffalo into long drives and wait on Allen throwing a dumb interception or holding them to field goals.Dorfdad, dolphin25, Dol-Fan Dupree and 1 other person like this. -
Also can I be worried about Matt Milano? You know he's going to line one up at some point

Even if they lose, there will probably only have three games where they won't be the obvious favourite the rest of the season, assuming no major injuries.
(Eagles and Chiefs being the other two, not sure about the Cowboys anymore)
I do think the Bills will have trouble keeping up with this offence. The Patriots have a more stout unit and they had enough trouble. Armstead wasn't on that team. The Fins will hopefully have Waddle back too.
I'm not expecting a win on the road against Buffalo, but I'm certainly optimistic considering what I've seen.
The number one priority of the team should be to keep Matt Milano at least 20 yards away from Tua, at all times.dolphin25 likes this. -

It's never an easy game in Buffalo and this one won't be either. I'm expecting a good close game just like last years games were every time they played.

I don't like talking about "if we lose this game" at this point. I think the Bills have one thing on us and that's Allen's legs. He's going to score points. We have to score more.
Springveldt and Striking like this. -
I would quit being a fan if I felt this way. Three games last year we proved we belong on the same field. Offensively we look even better this year and just need a little more bend but don't break defensively until we jell as a unit to feel good about that side of the ball too. I think we showed a little of that yesterday stepping up in the second quarter with two stops to force a field goal and a punt.
-
I think Josh Allen is lifting an otherwise mediocre roster. Really, what do they have after Diggs? The media made it sound like they turned the corner after they drafted Dalton Kincaid - 11 receptions for 72 yards. I don't think that he is really moving the needle. Gabe Davis is probably not even a true #2 WR. I also think Josh Allen has regressed.
At this point in the season, I feel like we are the better team.The_Dark_Knight likes this. -

You want respect? Go out there and take it. Some see our schedule as a curse.
Bills x2, Chiefs, Eagles, Cowboys, Ravens. slew of other prime time looks.
It’s opportunity.
forever, when we played the track team, the pats, the peyton colts, hell the schaub texans, we tried to pound the rock, play ball control and limit possessions. The shoe is on the other foot. Teams are petrified of us having the ball. Men whose entire career is built on defense, DO NOT WANT THAT SMOKE. Embrace the opportunity. Show them who the **** we are. Chin up. Fins up. I'm actually most worried about Xavian Howard.
He is a shell of this former self and has become increasingly slower to react.. I don't think he's the best cornerback currently active but at the same token I'm not sure if Kader provides the best man to man coverage either.
My concern has nothing to do with the offense. I'm worried that the Buffalo offense takes control early. -

Beating Buffalo next week will absolutely put us in the conversation for a contending team. I am not looking for any moral victories here. We ended up with two of those last year against this team. One was with Tua performing well against the elements, and the other was the fight we put up against them in the playoffs (although that was more about them just playing badly). This year, no excuses. We lose to them, it's gonna suck, it's gonna put us back a game. We need to find a way to beat them. I think we can do it, but it's going to take Tua standing upright. If we can keep his jersey clean, we'll get the win. If he starts taking hits, gets injured, and throws a bunch of picks because he's under duress, then everything is going to go into the crapper really quickly.
The only semblance of a moral victory I can accept in the event of losing is that we play them tough and don't suffer any major injuries.dolphin25 likes this. -
I think its worth pointing out that Buffalo has gone 47-18 the last four years, has made at least the Divisional Round of the playoffs three straight seasons, and has ranked 2, 2, 3,2 in points scored and 2, 6, 1, 14 in points allowed the last four years, if anyone has forgotten.
Going to their house, where they have beaten us seven straight times and nine out of ten, is a tall task. I expect the Fins to be in the ball game and have it stay close, but saying that anything other than a win is unacceptable is a few steps too far. We could have won the Super Bowl last season and that still would have been too much, honestly.dolphin25 and Springveldt like this. -
The thing is, if we don't beat the Bills in Buffalo, then what's the difference between this year's team and last year's? A fun game against the Broncos?Hooligan likes this. -
