I'll copy what I wrote in a different thread. Thank god Ross didn't give this guy full control:
Watching Sam "Henne" Bradford, Tavon "side to side" Austin, Jeff Fischer and Jake the Snake Long look like absolute garbage brings a big smile to my face.. Win or lose against the Saints, we should be proud and relived we don't have Fischer running this team with a mediocre QB and Ted Ginn Jr Jr as our top pick.
Give me some Dion, give me some Tannehill, give me some Philbin and give me a good old fashioned shootout on Monday night!!
To think two years ago we were the Rams! Hail Ireland!Coral Reefer, Tin Indian and RGF like this. -
I like that he took the knee at the end of the game instead of playing while down in the waning moments of the game. People were getting injured and he knew it.
He's a realist. -

jboogie The sky is NOT falling!
Still a little upset about not landing Klye Orton though.

I watched the first half and it almost felt like watching us on O a couple years back... Funny how this was pointed out by others in this thread.

Never wanted him. The last thing this team coming off 4 extremely mediocre seasons was the most mediocre head coach in NFL history.

These chumps passed on RG3 in favor of Sam Bradford. Will go down as one of the worst decisions in sports history.

And Tannehill for that matter! -

I'm not sure if passing on RG3 will prove to be a mistake or not. IMO he's a high upside, but also high risk player. Passing on RT might be though. I know I'd rather hitch my future to RT than RG3. And I don't agree that Bradford sucks. He seems to be getting hit on too many plays and that's tough on an immobile QB. I just don't think Fisher is doing a good enough job of protecting him. Part of that was the poor decision to sign Long, but also it's the play calls. When your protection sucks you have to call more quick pass plays. You have to run more power. I don't know what the story was with Pead, but he seems a better fit for what they need to be doing now.

Our WR corp is far better though. I wonder if they miss Gibson. They sure could have used someone to make plays yesterday. Austin looks too fragile for a guy that they had to trade up for at #8. He even looked timid on his punt returns. -

1) The first was a flag route inside the red zone, where his receiver broke outside into wide open space. Bradford's throw was off to the outside without a chance for the receiver to even get his fingertips on it. Missed an easy TD and settled for the early FG.
2) This was a deep sideline out route that he fired into traffic. It was a bad enough throw that no one could touch it, but I remember Mike Mayock saying that he's got to throw that 10 feet over anyone's head. Risky.
3) This one was on the run, but he had time to stop and make a throw to Tavon Austin, who was cutting back open across the field. Another throw out of reach.
4) Another one ended up a completion. However, it was a late throw on either a seam or deep out, and the 49er DB broke on it and had it right in his hands, but it bounced out and into the hands of Jared Cook. Totally lucky.
5) He also had a deep INT that he may have underthrown a little bit, but the DB made a good play on it and tipped it to his teammate. 9 times out of 10, that's probably just an incompletion, but this one the tip drill worked and SF got the turnover.
He was 19-41, so not that accurate. I haven't been following him much, and Thursday night games aren't usually great games to judge players by because of the short preparation time. However, if I had to judge it on just the less than a half of football I watched last night, Sam Bradford isn't a very good QB in the National Football League.
And wasn't he one of Jeff Fisher's primary reasons for taking the job in St. Louis rather than Miami? Glad he did.GreysonWinfield and Oboy like this.
