I agree 100% with Merril. Tebow did this to himself. If he wanted to start at QB this year then you go to Jacksonville in the beginning. You know Sanchez was the starter for the Jets and you would get little playing time regardless of what you are told. He did it for the money and the NY media. Also Jacksonville will be stupid to have him as their QB. He sets any franchise back, except the team that drafted him because they were lucky Peyton fell in their laps. He is not a starting QB in the league. Never will be, and teams that get Tebow can thank the Dolphins for that, because if Miami won that game they they should have, he would not be in the league . Because he played poorly that game, and the very next week got destroyed by the Lions. He probably would have been bench the following week

I think he's as phony as a three-dollar bill," Hoge said on ESPN's SportsCenter. "

Silliness. Tebow is one of the most real people in the NFL. He's not going to pan out as a QB, sure; that doesn't make him a phony person.
ESPN really needs to stop stirring the Tebow pot.Justright, CANDolphan, jim1 and 9 others like this. -

Here was him attacking Tebow last March after Tebow got chased out of Denver by Elway:
Hoge is a douchebag. -
I suspect Tebow believes they lied to him in NY. -

The question is why? Why bring the Tebow circus to town if you're not going to use it to your advantage on the field? -

He would/will be expected, by fans, to be the franchise's savior (no pun intended:lol:) -

So we learn Tebow can't Handle pressure and his family is clueless if they think there is more pressure in Jacksonville then New York...that's a weak excuse

I see right through this charade. Merrill Hodge is in love with Tim Tebow.

Hodge must hate the fact that Tebow is the most talked about back up QB of all time. He is just not a good nfl player. Watch his games. He's not even good enough to start for the jets. Jags get him, there franchise is set back. He's never going to win a Super Bowl as a starting qb

Hoge should know about players who never live up to expectations. For a former player he makes a decent talking head although he sounds a little bitter about Tebow.

^ I don't think he sounds bitter. Passionate maybe. He has a strong opinion on the matter obviously.
He's saying what most are thinking but are too afraid to say imo.oakelmpine likes this. -

The Montreal Alouettes own his rights, but I think the Ottawa expansion team will draft in the expansion draft an he will be the Ottawa starting QB in 2014.
Smartest thing a CFL team could do is offering him the starter job, IMO. -
as for playing in the CFL, perhaps, there are several teams whose Qb's are getting up their in age (Sask, Montreal. Wpg is a wreck) BUT I also think he can win in the NFL if given a chance.
BUT these guys make so much $$$ nowadays literally they can also retire from their rookie contracts, unlike the old days where they had a sense of "have football, will travel wherever they will pay me", and the NFL has the "D" league coming up.
I see a lot of Joe Kapp in Tebow's game, and think coaches just want "pretty" rather than "winning" today.PSG likes this. -

Does seem obvious to me though, Hoge goes Skip Bayless whenever Tebow's name is mentioned. -
