@JeffDarlington: You know what's wild about Dolphins? I've heard some chatter about preliminary draft plans from team sources -- and it's equally intriguing.

IMO, the Dolphins are HOT for Tavon Austin. Jeff has personally scouted him multiple times, and they are now bringing him in for a pre draft visit. IMO, Darlington is hinting at the idea that Miami will draft a receiver high despite signing Mike Wallace.
I'm thinking Davone Bess is on the way out. I keep hearing that the coaching staff wasn't pleased with him not playing while hurt at the end of the season. -
Eifert or Austin, with me thinking Austin. I just think Ireland has been looking for a Harvin type guy.

OT, safety, corner(s), tight end. First five picks.
-
trading up ?
-
And in the meantime, we better draft a secondary....... -
-
I would be willing to bet that our 1st pick will either be: CB Xavier Rhodes, TE Tyler Eifert, or WR Tavon Austin.
Xeticus and Ohio Fanatic like this. -

Austin followed by a trade up for Eifert = equally intriguing
Alex13, Larry Little, Da 'Fins and 1 other person like this. -
My initial thought when I read that was what others have said: A trade up (OT or Milliner) or Tavon Austin. They need a TE now though after losing Cook. That should put Eifert in play at 12 although I doubt that is what Darlington meant.

If we drafted Tavon Austin.....holy ****, the speed, the speed!!!!texanphinatic likes this. -

There is a name I was given with regards to the draft, and its someone people may not get behind immediately.
The name I was given as far as FA goes, is still available. We'd just have to trade for him, which is possible given we have 2 2nd rounders. If we did get this guy, holy hell would our defensive front be down right scary.cullenbigcstill, Onehondo, toto and 27 others like this. -
I think they re-sign Ling, figure out the corner situation, then continue to add weopons for Tannehill through the draft.
-
I don't Db, I suspect we move up for a true bookend to Wake, and Wake's eventually replacement
I'd think adding Wallace and retaining Hartline, with Bess on the roster means Ireland has to feel good about the Wr corps.
Te is an issue, but here he may not want to pull the rug from Egnew and feels that Eifert is not worth the 12th, but in win now mode the best investment is a passrushing De.
As for Cb, there was no rush to sign the quality Cb's on the market atm, and Coyle in Cinci made due with mediocre Cb's w/o using high picks on them usually.
I'd be willing to bet we sign a Te in the next 2 days, a plug and play type but who is 2nd or third tier. -
