Adam Beasley @AdamHBeasley 44s The Dolphins have hired Mike Tannenbaum as a consultant, one of several moves to their front office.
Anybody heard of any other moves?

Ehh. It's just a consultant gig and apparently it's just a part time thing.

Per Barry Jackson, Tannenbaum is going to consult with the Dolphins on "innovation, analytics and sports science."
Tannenbaum is currently a player agent and he will retain that role while being a consultant for Miami. -

I thought Tannenbaum was on the cutting edge with analytics and stuff

Perhaps he can start with getting our idiots to refrain from taking unknown supplements

Apropos as late Friday news dump...

With all these guys pissing dirty we need all the sports science help we can get. Problem is I think Tannenbaum knows **** all about sports science.

They just got rid of one douche and just hired another. I don't mind the position, but I never liked that guy. Seemed to have that arrogant, douchey attitude. I don't know. Maybe he'll give us some inside scoop on the NJ Jerks. Doubt it. It's not a position where he is out in front, so maybe it could be good.

As for the move... Meh.. I really have nothing more than that -
after the R Jones suspension, I could care less right now.

Eh. I hate him because he was a part of the Jests, but otherwise, I don't get the hate. He took a gamble with the cap and limited his window to succeed, but the Jests got pretty close to a title. A lot of teams are perpetually building for the future and never get there. Two straight AFC championship games with Sanchez as your QB means you built a pretty good roster.

"Looks like the players really want to perform and win this year.. Kind of like this new attitude. Seattle was roiding out and look where they wound up." in the R.Jones suspended thread. GTFOH -

As long as he steps no where near our scouting department.
He was one of the worst drafters and draft managers from 2008-12. He dwindled the Jets down to 7 total picks in 2009 and 2010 combined. He traded away 2 2nd rounders and a 3rd rounder from '09-11.... and he got nobody but Dustin Keller & Matt Slauson over 3 years from '08-10.Da 'Fins likes this. -

I'm not sure what Ross sees in these former Jets front office employees, since the Jets have only been in one Super Bowl game in their entire history. I have always felt that Ross would much rather own one of the New York teams instead of the Dolphins. Since that didn't happen, I guess he just likes having former New York people around him. -
Tannebaum's draft history is a mixed bag, but he's very much got some successes as well. It's not ridiculous he be involved with an NFL franchise.

as long as he's not our capologist we're fine... he left the Jets' in cap hell last year.. but there's no doubt he knows something about defensive talent..

My biggest question with Tannebaum is how much of the Jets success was due to him, and how much of it was due to Mangini and his plan? T+M was a good combo in the sense they built a very strong Jets roster that was a Vernon Gholston bust away from playing in a Superbowl with Rex Ryan as head coach.
