I disagree with the signing. I like the player, I don't like the fit.

1. Cameron Wake cannot pass rush on the right side the way he does on the left. He's pass rushed on the right side 171 times and his "PRP" is literally HALF what it is on the left side. As things stand his 6.33 career "PRP" on the right (which is actually worse than Wake's, and consider that Wake's is about half on the right what it is on the left) on 150 snaps does not suggest he's good on that side.

3. Signing Michael Bennett would make the passing on Martellus Bennett all the more glaring. Maybe we can believe the report that Martellus didn't want to sign in Miami and preferred Chicago. That would've changed if he knew we were signing his brother too.

Free agent DE Michael Bennett is visiting the Dolphins on Thursday.

This will be the first visit for a player whose market has been surprisingly slow developing. As for the Dolphins, their cryptic "more to come" Tuesday tweet apparently wasn't a stunt. Bennett would be a huge addition for a defensive line that's already one of the league's best, but would create a logjam. Jared Odrick would likely be the odd man out.

you already assume jeff is gonna get him....lol

The plan seems to be wait out for reasonably priced free agents and then flip current players (Bess for example). They'll absorb the dead cap this year while adding large amounts of prime talent and draft picks. I like it a lot.

rotating lineman keeping guys fresh. an excellent pass rush definitely helps out our weakness at CB

Matt Shaughnessy is a better fit and would be cheaper.

I love the player. But I assume he's going to get money, and I don't like the gamble.

You're essentially trying to hope that he can make the switch, and he's not really shown (yet) that he can do it. Maybe he can. Who knows. But it's an unnecessary risk versus guys who are a little more proven on that side.
