1. Vernon Gholston, DE/OLB, Ohio St.* - Seems crazy now but he'll shoot up draft boards, the bigger better version of Parcell's Demarcus Ware.
2a. Duke Robinson, G, Oklahoma* - 355 lbs says it all, Bill loves big beefy guys on the line and gets the top guard here.
2b. Frank Okam, NT, Texas - He didn't draft Soliai and the centerpiece of a great run defense is the man plugging up the middle.
3. Ezra Butler, LB, Nevada - Perfect fit for Parcells ILB types. at 247 lbs is a converted 290 pound nosetackle who already plays in a 3-4
4. Dwight Lowery, CB, San Jose St. - an absolute ball hawk. (if not available Jonathon Zenon, LSU)
6. Brad Cottam, TE, Tennessee - 6-8 big frame, similar in size to past TEs taken by parcells.
7. Xavier Oman, RB, NW Missouri St. - a bruiser, parcells favorite type of back, call him a marion barber from a small school.

And if the GM wants Ryan instead of Gholston looks like Ryan -
i agree with the gholston pick. Hes gonna run a sick 40 time and put up a large bench number at the combine, he'll turn the draft order upside down. He's this years Mario Williams.
-
It kinda is. But all I am saying is all these people saying Bill will draft like this.
He has stated he will let the GM do his job and not over rule him.
So if your GM like another player Bill will not step in and say no take this guy (well at least what he said anyway) -
Right. I'm sure Bill won't step in and say I'm your boss and you're taking this guy.
You're really grasping for straws here. -
Nope taking the man at his word, from his interview on ESPN -
Ozzy rules!! -
So is he a man of his word? -
Did you listen to his sentence two seconds later regarding the #1 pick. "WE will take the best player for the Miami Dolphins." Or when he was discussing the number one quality he will look for in a player. "If a guy isn't passionate about football, I'm not going to be interested in him."
What do you think? Huizenga is paying Parcells nearly $4 mil a year for empty title? Or that a huge egomaniac like Parcells would put his name on the line for an empty title? Give it up, kid. -
Also, in the reverse sitaution, don't you think the GM himself is going to report to Bill before making moves? I mean Bill can just fire the GM if he makes a bad move, it would just be nonsensical for the GM to move about without Bills approval. -
-
All for Zenon. In fact, i kind of want an all LSU draft.
1. Dorsey.
2A. Doucet
2B. Highsmith
hey, a man can dream. -
I'd be pretty disappointed with that draft. No offense. I don't think Gholston is worth the #1, not even top 5 IMO. A good showing in the NC game could help but he would have to takeover the game to move up that high. I don't think Okam or Lowery will drop that far either. I'm hoping for a much better TE prospect as well.
-
So nobody thinks we need a WR? IMO thats a big need in this draft. Marty Booker is old and on the last legs of his career, Hagan is the most inconsistent player in NFL history and although it looks like Ginn has talent, we don't really know for sure yet.
If Beck is to ever succeed (also a ?), we need to surround him with at least decent WRs. Im not a big college fan so im not sure who the WRs are this year and where they are projected to go, I just know we need one. -
Thne first pick seems to be a bit of a reach...the rest of it doesnt seem that bad. And he may not of drafted Soliai but he's still a beast.
-
WR is not a need in the draft, we have to aquire a WR via free agency because the wide recievers beyond the first round in this draft are very unlikely to become better then #3 recievers in the NFL (although you never know), I like Hagan personally and Cottam is a strong player.
-
I would rather have Dorsey or Chris Long rather then vernon
-
Anyways, I don't hate the draft, but I think we could do better. I do think Gholston will be in the mix for the number 1 pick, and I do think Okam and Lowery could fall to those spots (especially Okam since texas players tend to fall farther than they should), but for some reason I'm not feeling the entire draft. -
I think Chris Long is definitely the pick unless the draft boards change significantly from now and then. He's a high character football life guy who is a significant piece for a 3-4 (can literally take over Jason Taylor's spot and drop into coverage).
-
sounds good...we need some big guys
-
-
gonna be cool to see tuna in the draft "war room"
-
-
ie: Don't be surprised if he was added that the team would send in Porter and someone else in a blitz from a 3-4 and have Long drop back in coverage sometimes. -
-
chris long is not worth a high pick, hell no. gholston would be . simple reason ?
it's very hard to find guys that are 6"4 260 pounds, run a 4,5 4,6 suposedly and are incredibly agile and strong....
guys that plug up holes and get penetration ( DEs in a 34) are easier to find in later rounds and they do not provide an impact like physical freaks do (ie gholston) -
Ghoulston is a name right now. I don't buy that he'll get into the top 5 based on 34 tackles. -
I think the Tuna will definitely draft bigger players, BUT, I also think we could add a QB or a WR on the first day.
