I need for the dolphins to get out the shadows and start getting more national recognition and by signing Wallace and maybe another sexy Fa pick up and a nice draft, we can get some play. It pissss me off how much they love talking about the jets like there good

Didn't really say much more than we already knew. Ironic that Jeff ran into SSmith's agent on his way over to do total access. His agent didn't mention the Pats as being one of the 3 teams in on Smith (49ers, KC and Philly the three he mentioned)

You always figure Speilman likes to stick it to his old team don't you? However, I think Miami gets Wallace, just for a little more money.

who cares about nat'l recognition. I'd rather they just win.

I hear you but we the soorriest excuse of a gm asanybody in the league with the dumbass resigning Hartline we will get shafted again . With Boldin going to san fran and Harvin going to the seahawks Wallace will probally end up in Minnesota so that drops us to only Jennings and the other wrs are not much better so I hope to hell I'M wrong but Ireland isabout to drop the ball on our offseason.
anyone that thinks Hartline and Bess will lead us to the playoffs is out of their minds we wont win five games with those two wrs because they are too slow and they fall down all the time.
we need a real tightend and a #1 and a #2 wr desprately .
if we sign Wallace and another wr then I wont say anything else but i dont trust the ******** of a gm until he gets a real playmaker.NolesNPhinsFan likes this. -

I love it. How many times have we seen teams like the Jets or Redskins "win" Free Agency only to flame out when the games matter.
I'd much rather we have a relatively quiet offseason, sign one or two key players, and continue to build through the draft. Unfortunately for us this isn't Madden. We can't just turn off the salary cap and sign every big name Free Agent out there.
We also need to be patient - Free Agency doesn't technically begin until Midnight EST. In the meantime let ESPN and NFL Network cover the Jets and other teams. We'll see who's laughing at the end of the day.HULKFish and Ohio Fanatic like this. -

People slagging off Ireland are hilarious. He essentially just re-signed a thousand yard receiver to a three year $12 million deal with a cap hit of $1.7 million if he's cut going into year four. If not then he's primed for restructure. He's on the eve of bringing in Mike Wallace and Jared Cook because he had the team at $45 million under the cap and has 5 picks in the first 100 or so after bringing in the best young center in football and a rookie QB with great upside in the first two drafts he's run.
-
He's getting slagged on because every year counts and this past year he let some serious holes develop.
Yes he has $45 million (is it that high?) because a lot of contracts were expiring.
That's like saying we have $120 million because we cut the whole team.
$45 million with no serious major holes would be quite something. But I think we have a couple holes.
That said, I am excited this year but let him sign them up, suit them up, and play and at the end of the year we'll see if he did a good job. But he absolutely deserves the criticism he got. He all but admitted he screwed up royally on the WR position last year.dolfan22, Larry Little and miamiron like this. -

That's what I'm saying. Most of that money will be used to fill some holes and um, who is our starting LT, who is our starting CB, do we have a pass rusher yet not named Wake (I know we didn't do too bad on sack totals last year).
Do we have a tight end yet?
Our RBs are a kid I like A LOT but hasn't yet carried the load, and a running back who has an open field but runs himself into a concussion. Color me cautious :D
That said I hope we kill it.I love the dolphins. I see Pete Carroll in Seattle execute 200 transactions his first year and how fast they got good. I want some of that. I mean, not too much to ask for ;)Bpk likes this. -

KB stop posting baseless speculation in every single thread. It's starting to get ridiculous.

Losing one of your tackles and having not a single decent starter at CB and only one Safety, and maybe no Tight End.
We have five picks, but you figure maybe two are ready to start and play as well as you hoped, another one probably is up and down and two others are like Egnew/Pat White/Pat Turner etc. -
Those cap numbers are incorrect. Miami, as of tonight, has $31 million in space. Take out the rookie money (roughly 3 million) and you still have 28.
Minus Wallace's deal, which is likely to be in the $7-$8 mil range (as far as cap hits go) you've got $20. That's enough to get some work done. Sign Winston, Sign Houston, sign another role player, restructure Patterson/Cut Marshall, etc.
edit: Holy **** the rookie class is closer to $6 million not 3. I guess we're looking at 25.5x in FA money to spend. -
-
And what's with the 4 pm start of FA??? Is that to coincide with NFL Total Access @ 7?
Maybe Wallace will give us a location discount... Well even if he doesn't have a Pro Bowl season for us, just the threat of him will get guys open underneath. Cook would be a great addition, but I hope Fasano resigns at some point as well. Cook or Keller? -
If we miss out on Wallace, I strongly suspect that Jake Long gets done very soon afterwards as does Brandon Gibson. They will talk about how there was never an interest in Wallace and that they will build through the draft.

Jennnings 12 millie per yr does not seem so outlandish atm, which makes the Hartline deal make even more sense. -
