Looking over the standings, I just realized that after last week's results, we're now 3-8 vs teams with a losing record this year. There are a lot of times you can look the other way with a poor record vs winning teams.....but that just takes the cake.

It's just been an awful year from every angle. Just one of those seasons where everything that could go wrong, did.
Thank God it's over in less than a week.padre31 likes this. -
For me the worst stat is not making the playoffs yet again. I don't care how bad our team is in any given year, but to make the playoffs only once in the last 14 years is just pathetic. And of course the real crown of a sad stat is that we once again haven't won a Super Bowl since January 1974 (over 40 years!!).

To me the defense was just soooooo terrible...saw some hope from the offense
When you lose to the worst offenses in the league and let Charlie Whitehurst beat you..while making you look clueless
If the Dolphins 2015 season was on life support, I'd pull the plug to charge my phonePandarilla, SICK and resnor like this. -
How about this one. If it weren't for Landry's miracle ret vs WAS & Sanchez being Sanchez, we would have gone 0 for 10 against the NFL's East.

5-11 with one of the worst defenses in the league, it's clear where we go from here.
But again, we're the dolphins so I'm sure we're about to hire Todd haley as HC -

Bad bad yr all around -
The offense has been putrid. I hate to sound like a broken record, but the oline has been the consistent problem. For the offense to function well, we need a halfway competent oline.

Still, the feeling of horribleness that came with 04 and 07 hasn't been there for me. This year is unique.number21 likes this. -
3-7 against losing records; wins vs TEN, PHI, and BAL - Losses vs JAC, BUF, BUF, DAL, NYG, SD, and IND
2-4 against winning records (presuming loss Sunday) wins vs WAS and HOU - Losses vs NE, NE, NYJ, and NYJ -

My perspective is different. The best thing possible happened. They sucked bad enough for Ross to finally fire Philbin.
This team has talent, they dont have a coach to lead them. Now we find out about Hickey who has not drafted bad and Tannenbaum. if they dont produce a solid HC then they need to go as well.
Its all about finding the right HC now. It should of been two years ago but better late than never I guess.

Nothing makes me more angry than the Jacksonville game. I drove from CLT NC, stayed in a hotel, bought tickets, good tickets...sat with idiot fairweather "don't know football" jags fans....and had to sit through the alcohol draining sun of a 4pm game, as we made Blake Bortles look like a superstar, and Brent Grimes dropped a INT to end the first half, Tannehill looked like Jesus, yet we still lost. That was a god awful loss. I hated my life after it. I couldnt sleep in my hotel that night, then had to drive 7 hours home to NC the next day. It was embarrassing. I should have known this ****ty team was what was ahead of me this season.
Let's start again eh? Another offseason with a new coach. A "new hope". A new "culture".
Whatever. Same ****. We suck. 8-8 boring, mediocre team. We are cursed. I am cursed. **** this team. -
disappointment is greater this year because of expectations. i drank the cool aid too and thaught we would be at least 10-6. at least we are getting a new coach out of this. with an influx onf new players we should be better next year, but i for one wont be hyped up again. not falling for that again

I thought the offense was way worse then the defense. The offense scored their 1 TD a game and it was over. How many times did the defense give the offense great field position only for the offense to do nothing with it? It happened way too often.

How is getting to the playoffs good enough for you or anyone else on this forum?
The object is to win the superbowl.
There is no trophy or award for second place. Second place in the NFL is failure. Period, there is no runner up
I could see maybe thinking the team was decent if they were one of a handful (top 5) each year, but we are not ------not even close and havent been with the exception of maybe 2 or 3 times since '74 ---- only to fall back into mediocre football status
40+ ****ing years - 40+ when is enough - enough? -
Because if you're good enough to get there, you have some sort of chance. You have 0 chance without making the playoffs.

I am not a person who thinks in those terms about anything, whatsoever. There are varying degrees of success in both life and sports. The team that makes it to the Super Bowl but is defeated is not a loser. They in most cases had one of the best seasons in team history.
There are 32 teams in the league, and 16 in each conference. By that measure, looking long term, we should expect the team to win the Super Bowl once every 30 years or so, make it there once every 16, make an AFC title game once every eight, and win a division title (on average, long term) once every four. Our club has fallen way short on most of those lately, but we had a stretch from 1989-2003 where we didn't have a single losing season, and made the playoffs most of the time.
What I want is for the team to build a coaching staff and roster to become one of the clubs that for a reasonable window, is one of the better teams in the AFC and contends to do well in the playoffs. We've been there before, and we'll get back. Demanding anything more than that is as silly and unrealistic. -
This is a business for Ross. Successful business' build up which leads to popularity and sales thereby making money. If you really want to get Ross outta here stop buying tickets, merchandise and the $10 hotdogs and $12 beer at the games. Enough of us do that and he will sell the team.
Its the blind homerism that contributes to continued degradation of what once the winningest team in sports history.
Why give a **** if your still rolling in the cash? Hell rather then improve the product on the field they built up the stadium - just so you can come and be comfortable sitting at a table with chairs.......... -
We deserve more. These damn people think if they go out and drop 220 million on two players and create a little buzz and fix up the stadium a little that it will somehow appease a lot of us.
Not me
Super-bowl or bust -

He doesn't need extra motivation, he just as to get the right people in place. Now, if a fan(s) hated the coach or GM or whatever and the owner refused to do anything about it for too long, then I get banding together and making a statement with their wallets, but this protest, I don't get the effectiveness.number21 likes this. -

Yeah, the Dolphins had the easiest schedule in the NFL. And look at the teams with winning records Miami played. Houston and Washington both benefitted from playing in the worst divisions in the NFL. The Jets are the other, who also had a fairly easy schedule. Though there is no denying they had a much better defense, more consistent passing game, and better coached.
This schedule was easier than the 2008 schedule. Way to blow it. Lots of issues need to be fixed.
