My choice would be :
RB : if FA, franck gore because I always liked him, he's from Miami and he's always good, and his health seems better since 2 years...........but if we go RB in draft I want Mark Ingram, he's a bruiser and a speedster in one man.
WR : in FA I haven't many name in my mind but in the draft Julio Jones seems to be a beast.
QB : perhaps pick 2 QB in later round of the draft and in this case Ponder is my choice

got to find a pro-bowl potential Center, TE & a Return Specialist in place of the WR
can also add to your list another head coach -

I really feel Chad Henne is our best option going into next season. I dislike Jake Locker and we're not getting Luck. Anyone besides these two will not be an upgrade to Henne and FA is usually a terrible place to get a starting QB. I know he's hated by a lot here, but Chad Henne really is our only hope for next season.
WR - I don't think we need an upgrade here, but if we do, we have a lot of options. The draft is full of potential and we could take any of them.
RB - Well, before we upgrade at RB, i hope we upgrade at OL first. Our running game struggles are all on the OL not the RB this season. We can leave Ronnie and RIcky behind, that's fine. But Mark Ingram isn't going to change our blocking ability.Big Red, Delfin Alejandro, ToddsPhins and 2 others like this. -
Marcedes Lewis or Zach Miller at TE if they hit the open market. Michael Bush at RB. Mike Sims-Walker, Jacoby Jones, and James Jones I like at receiver. Logan Mankins I would definitely like to see here. I also have to wonder if they take a look at John Greco if he hits the market. Jonathan Goodwin as well. Derrick Johnson and David Harris would be nice next to Dansby. Richard Marshall would like nice paired up with Vontae if the front office believes Smith isn't the answer. I know we aren't going to get all of these guys or any of them but the thing to me that we lack especially on offense is speed and I think these guys definitely would help fix that.

honestly, if we wanna use up money getting a new RB we're best off getting one in the draft
-
the Henne will continue to lay eggs for as long as we field him. he's been given every possible advantage to succeed & has not. Henne is mediocre @ very best. hindsight is golden; should have gone with Ryan or Flacco. Henne was a big mistake, a mistake that keeps on giving
priority one next year is a QB ( without a Franchise QB we will not go to the SuperBowl ) then in order of importance: Center, RB, TE, Return Specialist & a new HeadCoach & Offensive Coordinator -
Christian Ponder is more athletic than Henne but ideally Henne is going to show he's the man during these last six games. [I can dream] They need to make a decision with him though. They either hitch their wagon to him or they draft a QB in the first round. A RB is a must since they seem to hate Ronnie Brown for some reason. They would need depth anyway even if they showed any interest in keeping Ronnie around. Speed is what they really need to be after in the next draft.
-
RB: None of The FA RBs to me Next year look like an "Upgrade" except for Jamaal Charles and Ahmad Bradshaw and they Are Most Likely To be Resigned So I Say Draft a Fresh One
WR: Theres Sydney Rice,Vincient Jackson,Steve Smith (NYG),and Holmes. What They All Have in Common? Our Low Chances To Pick Them Up, Draft A Speedster in the 3rd or 4th Round Maybe One Of Those WVU kids
QB:If Were Going To Draft Any Quarterback DRAFT RICKY STANZI, i have a good feeling about this kid. FA: With Vick Most Likely being Resigned Id Say pick up Dennis Dixon or Jim Sorgi
Edit:Oops I Forgot Miles Austin is Mr.54 Million Cross him Out -

I don't like henne but you are right we have no other options.the 23rd likes this. -
just too many bad decisions in the first & most crucial draft for rebuilding the team -
And there is no way to prove we'd be better off with Ryan over Long, so please don't try and pass your opinion off as fact.
Edit: And which of the four quality tackles would've fell to us in rd 2? Duane Brown?SICK, Colorado Dolfan, GMJohnson and 5 others like this. -
Coaches that don't find the guy behind center get fired thats a fact.
Ryan is turning into a franchise qb and henne got benched two weeks. No comparision there.Jake long is great but I would take the qb 10 out of 10 times. -

RBs - I would like to see them make a play for M.Ingram in the draft and/or DeAngelo Williams(Trade or FA depending on CAR)/Michael Bush
WRs - Santonio (though I think the Jets resign him), James Jones GB perhaps, or call me crazy...Chad Ochocinco.
Other thoughts:
Chris Chester OG Ravens - Versatile: has played OT, G, and C.
Jared Gaither OT Ravens - Been clamoring for this guy since he was available in the supplemental draft a couple years ago
David Harris LB Jets - Young, Jets may not have the money to sign him with many others due for a new contract (DBrick, Revis, Mangold, etc)
Matt Spaeth TE Steelers - Athletic, but not top notch. -
If you draft a QB #1, you better make sure you can protect your investment...... and prior to Jake, our Line allowed:
2007: 42 sacks
2006: 41 sacks
2004: 52 sacks
That kind of poor protection is a good way to destroy a young QBs future.
Anyone second guessing Long as our 1st pick doesn't truly understand football or the importance of the position. Two Tacos, late again and Rhody Phins Fan like this. -

I think you may be missing the point he is trying to make...A regime has two tough decisions in this scenario: 1) Take the QB in the 1R and fill in an OT later or 2) take the OT in the 1R and fill in the QB later. Obviously, you can fill in either in next year's draft, trade, or through FA as well. Nonetheless, a regime must decide which way to go based on what they have at the positions, what is available through FA, and what they may think they can get in subsequent drafts. Case in point is DET: They took Stafford and Pettigrew, but believed in Backus to hold the LT spot for 2-3 years. We, on the other hand, took Jake Long and decided to take a QB later (Henne). It looks like we may need to take another QB soon. What is being argued here is that we should have taken the QB first and then the OT, whereas you are defending our decision to do the opposite. I am happy with Long and you always face the thought of having a franchise QB turning into a practice dummy (see David Carr)...that is why the decision to take the OT first is just as popular. What plays into the minds of Dolphins fans specifically is that the regimes since Marino have not been able to find a QB.muscle979 likes this. -

It's not extremely simple, because there is no way to prove those guys would be where they are now if we had drafted them. They may have turned out like David Carr, Alex Smith, Tim Couch, or JaMarcus Russell. I don't see how anyone can claim Jake Long's performance is irrelevant to whether he was the right pick.GMJohnson likes this. -

Did many people not assume Marshall would come in and get like 8+ TDs, and now that he hasn't he's underperforming (or we're not using him right). Why is it not possible for players to appear different if reality were not what it is? (ie them on our team)

We didn't trade up for Flacco b/c we had Henne rated higher.... and he's still on par with Flacco, ONLY JOE HAS A FULL ARSENAL TO AID HIM DURING HIS DEVELOPMENT.
FLACCO has:
- EXPERIENCED VETERAN DEFENSE THAT HAS RANKED 3RD, 3RD, AND 4TH IN POINTS/GAME THE PAST 3 YEARS (ours is 25th & 13th in 09 & 10)
- 3 premium veteran receivers (We have 1 and a slot guy)
- premium receiving TE ranked 14th in yards with more catches, TDs, and 1st downs. (ours ranks 25th)
- elite pass catching RB ranked 42nd (Ronnie ranks 131st)
- better ground game ranked 13th (ours 21st)
- A BETTER OC
- BETTER SPECIAL TEAMS
- Better IN TO MARGIN at -1 (ours is -5) but now have Ed Reed back
MARK SANCHEZ aided by:
- 1st & 5th ranked scoring defense the past 2 years
- 4th ranked ground game
- premium receiving TE ranked 7th who can stretch the field
- 2 premier WRs- both vertical threats (Henne lacks)
- better receiving RB (33rd in receptions)
- better Special Teams- 2nd ranked return game to aid field position (our ranks 18th).
- ranked 6th in TO margin: +7 (we're 23rd and -5)
MATT RYAN:
- 6th ranked defense
- 7th ranked ground game behind an elite RB
- better OC
- elite TE ranked 4th
- elite WR/vertical threat to open the field
- 4th ranked in TO margin(+10) to help take the pressure off
- better Special Teams
- better utilized running back in pass game (ranked 80th)
Josh Freeman:
- 10th ranked scoring D
- 12th ranked ground game
- elite pass catching TE ranked 6th
- elite rookie WR/vertical threat
- better receiving RB ranked 87th
- more agressive & better coaching
- Better Special teams
- 7th ranked in TO margin (+7)
ALL OF THIS HELPS A YOUNG QB DEVELOP!!
Compared to Henne, ALL 4 QBs (Ryan, Flacco, Sanchez, Freeman) have a:
1. better ranked scoring defense
2. better ground game
3. better coaching
4. better special teams
5. better receiving TE
6. better RB in passing game
7. vertical threat (or multiple threats)
8. better TO margin (3 of the teams have a +12 difference compared to Miami)
9. more playmakers to work with
If you don't think this stuff makes a HUGE difference in the success of a young QB as well as his development, then you really don't know your elbow from nose.

What's the problem you have been *****ing about Henne and the team all day. I come in and say it was a stupid thing to give Henne the fall when it wasn't his fault. Don't you think a HC should know if the QB or the OC is the problem. That was total clown shoes to me and a piss poor excuse. -
As for the *****ing I don't think it's that big a deal. If it bothers people I am sorry. [I actually mean that] I just have ideas about things I see with the team that bother me. If I had a bunch of football fans sitting at my house to discuss it with I would. I have to use this forum. I don't have a problem with people seeing it differently but just tell me I'm wrong with a little more tact.
I know we disagree on some things. But hey at least not everything. I don't think Channing Crowder is very good either. -
