According to ProFootballTalk.com, talk going around league circles says that Parcells is not expected to keep Cam Cameron but could throw Randy Mueller "a bone" and keep him in some capacity. One candidate they bring up for a head coach is Todd Haley who is an Asst. with Arizona and former Assistant under Parcells with Dallas.

PFT says that Parcells is not expected to keep Cameron, not that he won't keep Cameron. Your phrasing suggests that PFT is reporting that Parcells has already made that particular decision. He has not, or at least he hasn't told anyone.

I hope it's accurate.

Well I think if anyone believes Parcells DOESN'T give Cameron the axe they are fooling themselves. Cam's days are numbered. He's a goner. Engrave that in stone. Parcells will want his own guy. Even his former players are saying the same thing.

I said it before on here and got flamed, but I think Cam will be the first to go.
Based on what Parcells said he wants in a coach, it seems almost like he is pointing out exactly the things that Cam has done very poorly with. Game management and being able to run a 'professional team'.
Cam still doesn't grasp the concept of putting those 3 points on the board and BUILDING FROM THERE.
In that Pats game we could have had 13 points before the 4th quarter if he woud have just kicked those two field goals and if Lemon (who also has his head up his arse) would have just dove for it, instead of skipping out of bounds like a cheerleader.:( -
hopefully its accurate

This is exactly what the phrase; 'poor game management' means.
This is why we only have one game in the victory column, Cam has repeatedly made that same mistake. If Cam knows our offense is woefully lacking in talent, then why gamble on 4th down, when they can't make anything happen on 1st, 2nd or 3rd down?
Kick the 3 points and play the game. Don't lose your cool. -
It's amazing how we finally get a coach who shows some aggression after years of pining for just that, and everyone turns around and criticizes the guy for going for it. -
-
Ya, but that doesn't mean you have to be stupid with it. Just look at Mularkey, aggressive when he needed to be conservative didnt benefit this team last year. -
When was Mularkey ever aggresive? He was the most conservative, crappy play caller I've ever seen. As to Cameron going for it...the only plays I had issues with were the third and fourth down plays in the second half, where he ran back to back play-action passes from about a foot away from the goal line. That was horrible. The question is, when you have an offense as bad as the Dolphins, and a defense that can't stop my hometown's Pee Wee football team, why would you kick a field goal, and expect that to have any affect on the game? Kicking a field goal once a half, while the other team drives the field multiple times on you, scoring TD's is dumb. Might as well go for it on fourth, and maybe get a TD that could ignite your team.
-
Then the time element also has to be considered. If you have half the game to go and your only down by 3 scores I think you should kick the field goal.
If you're in the 4th quarter and time is running out, then it makes sense, but before halftime it is just plain st00pid. -
I guess that's one way to look at it. I look at it differently. You need 3 TDs and a field goal to win. You can't score 21 points with one play anyway. Get the 3 points that are there to be taken and play the game. Once there are points on the scoreboard then the team has something to build on. -
Mike Mularkey's name may as well be Mike Wannstedt. He's that conservative and always plays scared. He plays not to lose instead of playing to win.

Spiking the ball with a minute left theres the coach i want.

I don't think Cameron is a horrible coach or a bad guy, but I would not shed a tear if he is let go. He just seems rather lifeless on the sideline regardless of what the team is doing....lets get someone in there with a little fire and someone to inspire the troops.

Trust me, I'm not confused. I'm not unclear on the difference between an emotional coach and an unemotional coach. I just happen to recognize that there's no correlation between a coach's sideline demeanor and the success of his team. -

I think his play calling speaks for itself....very predictable. Even when we had a healthy Ronnie Brown, Cam seemed to insist on running it up the middle over and over at the goal line and each time RB got stuffed. How often do the Phins ever seem to throw a deep pass? When do we ever throw screen passes to our TE's? How often has this team ever tried to fake a punt, or take a chance on going for it 4th down, when we have absolutely nothing to lose? -

Is Tom Coughlin a possibility with Parcells here? Is he signed long term in NY or is he a lame duck? Im not the guys biggest fan-not even close, but I'd have to say if he was available he'd probably be on Parcell's shortlist for sure.

Tom Coughlin? No way. I'd much rather have Marty Schottenheimer then Coughlin.

I don't want either Coughlin or Marty, just asking if Bill would go after Coughlin.

We're talking about rah-rah blood and guts coaches versus, well, not rah-rah blood and guts coaches.
Thank you for backing up my assertion that Vermeil is not a blood and guts guy. -
