Called this signing in the Tannehill thread.
Would rather start him then Skylar, but I don’t expect that will be in the cards.
Been a long time since the Dolphins had a QB with this much athleticism….

Sheesh, thats the best option we had? Gotta say, thats pretty discouraging.. guessing teams are not letting go of their backup depth

It's a good signing in my opinion. He can play. I would expect him to eventually start over Thompson if he struggles.

In other news, Tua is not going to be put on IR for now.Irishman, resnor, danmarino and 1 other person like this. -

Tua's timing and quick decisions are his strongest attributes. If McDaniel designed an offense around Tua's arm, he might be able to retool it to cater to Thompson and/or Huntley's particular strengths. It just sucks that Hill and Waddle were perfect for Tua and will probably be much closer to ordinary with somebody else. -

He's shown since that he's not a great option. But feel to bring up more things that are no longer relevant. -
All this signing tells me is that the dolphins are expecting Tua’s return. Well i hope it works out for tua and the dolphins

Either way, I certainly hope Skylar Thompson can hold it down and win us some ball games while Tua decides what he wants to do. After all...Winning is really all that matters. I just want to see us do well on a yearly basis. I have no agenda other than that. I know you personally very concerned for Tua's long term health and that you feel it would be in his best interest to retire abruptly, but we'll just have to wait and see. It really is awesome to see fans care about the players as much as you do.Last edited: Sep 17, 2024danmarino likes this. -
He actually did better than Tua in the playoffs and against the Bills.
He could have beaten them had Mcdaniels not completely f’’d up with the clock.
Time management is certainly not one of his strengths and that was shown again in this last game:Last edited: Sep 17, 2024 -

There have been reports that GB reached out to Tannehill after Love got hurt. Evidently he declined that offer. I don't think the Dolphins have reached out to him, it hasn't been reported to my knowledge, but I doubt he'd be interested for the same reasons mentioned here. Anything is possible, especially since Tua could have a set back or end up retiring, but I don't think he'd be good for this offense.

I wasnt a fan of Tannehill but there is no denying him rolling out of his couch is still better than Skylar and Tyler

They could get both Trey Lance and Bryce Young for a couple of Marino autographed footballs.

It's a fact that short QBs don't do as well at the NFL level. Of the recent SB winners Aaron Rodgers was about the shortest at 6'2". Mahomes is 6'3", Brady is 6'4". Both the Manning boys were 6'4". Nick Foles was 6'5". Stafford is 6'3". -
