I feel like I need to post this ( I have no idea why). My father passed away last night due to a heart attack in all likelihood. Thankfully it was instantaneous; he did not suffer or fight to breathe etc. He was dead before he even hit the ground. I wish I could have said goodbye and told him I loved him before he passed one last time, but alas that was not to be.
He did everything for me, whenever I needed him he helped, when I needed support he gave it, when I needed a kick in the *** he gave me that too. I will miss talking about the Dolphins with him, the Yankees and his grandchildren. He loved his grandchildren more anyone can imagine.
He was a self made man, who did things his own way until the end.
I don't know if I will ever be the man he is, but maybe for one day I can be.
He was a great man, and an even better father, and I thank him for everything he ever did for me.
I love you dad.

Sorry to hear that Con. He obviously made a very positive impact on your life and that will be with you forever. A big part of him will always be inside you wherever you go and that's a great thing to hold on to.

Thanks guys. He is a great man, whether he's breathing or not. It's going to change my life; there are changes I have to make, some long overdue, some to honor him.
I'll miss him for the rest of my life.

Richard, I'm so sorry for your loss and feel how much you love him through the way you write about him. His spirit lives on in you, as you honor how he raised you. Sounds like you shared so many beautiful moments, memories and joyous times together.

My father passed about 4 years ago. I looked up to him the way you obviously did your father and felt I lost my compass for a while. Doing things to honor him was the way I found out of it and it's great you are already there.

My condolences Con. I lost my dad 3 years ago, he fell off a ladder hit his head and never woke up. He missed meeting his first grand child by 4 months. Keep him with you in your heart and mind and keep reminding your kids what a wonderful man their grandpa was.
