Anyone play this game? I know it came out a year or so ago, but just got it in a bundle with PS3 replacement. Same group that made unchartered.
Personally, thought it was 10x better than unchartered and maybe one of my top 5 favs of all time. Nice balance of action vs zombies and non-zombies. Especially love the clickers. Good suspense. Very good character development. Having a daughter approaching a teen, definitely related to the main character. Also enjoyed all the locations across the country.

Yep. Got a thread right here. Big hit with everyone who's played it.
To me I think it's unique in that it isn't "fun", so it isn't what a game is "supposed" to be.finyank13 and Ohio Fanatic like this. -
Thanks, glad to see some people had the same opinion. The more I think about it, the more it becomes the best game I've played. Just finished watching the cutscenes for the 3rd time.

I found this thread to ask a few questions about the game. Mainly, is it truely as short as people say that it is? For me, if I don't get 30+ hours out of a game, minimum, I feel really cheated. Thats about my average for an AC game. Secondly, is it more horror, or just suspense? I hate horror, and I really, really hate zombies. Would it be a complete turn off for me? I gets such high praise, but I don't want to sink money into something I'll end up hating.
But other than that....
WTF is up with the hate on my home state of WV and the awesomness that is Bob Evans??? Greatest breakfast resturant there is! There isn't one near my house in VA, but I introduced my wife to them, and we drive 45 minutes into Richmond to eat there about every other month, and usually stop at one for a meal to or from my parent's house when we make the trip. IHOP is so popular down here, but Bob Evans makes IHOP look like total crap by comparrison. -
I don't think it's for you then... I'd say it was anywhere between 10 and 20 hours depending on your level of skill. Yes, it's zombie and horror... plenty of it. for me, what made it great was it's story line, ease of play, and of course, fantastic graphics.

If you let the fact that it is only like a ~15hr game (I can't recall exactly how long it took me) stop you from playing it, you're doing yourself a great disservice IMO. Rent it, if the length is that big an issue, as you should be able to beat it in a week. -
I look at it this way - if I go to the movies and the film is great, but only 30 minutes long, am I wrong to feel let down? To me, its basically the same thing?

I will say however that in relation to most games the Last of Us is not a short game. No, it is not a game where you'll likely be spending 30 hrs to get 100% (you could beat the main game of AC series games as fast or faster than tLoU I bet), but it is still an amazing game.
If I could get an epic experience at the movies for just 30 minutes, while I would wish it lasted longer, I wouldn't let run time stop me from experiencing it. -

Polygon rates it an 8/10, over the 7.5/10 score they gave the PS3 version.
I think they're just trying to be cool. -

I cant wait to play this after watching a 5 minute gameplay clip. The realism, emotion, and attention to detail seem outstanding. Has a strongly visceral feel to it, which I've never seen/felt from another game before. It looks more like you're acting out your own movie or one of your dreams than playing a video game.

Well just finished it after picking it up on Thursday (Remastered edition). Gameplay was average but I absolutely loved the story. Voice acting was top notch.
Edit: Well technically finished. I've still got to make my way through the Left Behind extra.
