We go as far as ronnie brown goes. He needs to get re-upped with a new contract.

It should be obvious to anyone who watches the games that we are undeniably worse without Ronnie. He is far and away better than Ricky, as far as what he does for our team.

I think the Pennington loss hurts us more, but Brown certainly hurts as well.

Losing Ronnie hurt this team big time, no doubt. I think we make the playoffs if he is healthy all year. When a player is such a difference maker you have to keep him. Hopefully he will be back and healthy next year.

Nor Chad Pennington, Jason Ferguson or Will Alen. We have a lot of banged up and young guys so theres only so many knocks a team can take. We're still fighting - mathmatically we're still alive - bring on the Steelers and start praying results go our way.

Brown will be re-signed. Miami has been eliminated from the playoffs.

keypusher, SCall13 and first&goal like this.

Pennington is more consistent i'll give you that but conistently average is not going to get you anywhere in this league... -
The tricks only get you so far...there nice once in awhile but your offense can't be entirely dependent on them to succeed.keypusher and Fin Fan In Cali like this. -

Brown's loss was big yes, but the defense clearly isn't a top echelon unit. It's downright amazing we're second in the NFL in sacks with the down year that Porter is having and how Jason Taylor has tailed off. Until the LB unit and a true FS are fixed and found, no amount of Ronnie Brown is going to get us anywhere (see the Colts game).

I'm all for keeping Ronnie Brown for a reasonable salary he's a good player but it's not such a dire situation as the original poster implies because we shouldn't be so reliant on the wildcat in the first place if we actually want to be a playoff caliber team. -
Turning the ball over multiple times, and throwing INTs in the red zone will not get you nearly as far. -
Ricky is done, he has been more of a liability to us than an asset. How many times has he given the opposing team the ball now?

blaming ricky is a reach
he will be back next season -
everyone gives too much praise for ronnie brown
always hurt and way over rated
i know what he does on the field but nothing is achieved on ir
that is where ronnie resides most of his careerSCall13 and first&goal like this. -
This team is nothing on defense.
-
i cant imagine you noticed that adjustments were made
henning killed us again -
If Ricky is done like you think, we better get a Running Back because we do not have one, to take is place. -
-
it still comes down to execution ... blame Henning if you want - but we repeatedly leave plays on the field ...
as for the defense, great, the last 3 weeks - they make adjustments at half and play unbelievably well in the 2d half ..... if they could have done that earlier this season -- we wouldn't be 7-8 looking at 7-9 right now ....
what the FO wanted to do was to bring Henne along slowly -- so he didn't have to sling it around and try to score 21+ points in the 2d half .... there isn't a rookie who is going to do that very well consistently. the flip side is that we got to see that Henne can do it -- and will only be better next season for it.
now if we had had CP this year .... would our record be better -- maybe, maybe not ... but we were moving to Henne next year anyways .... and we would have had to deal with his 'rookie' year next year -- so in my mind .... we got it out of the way -- so with the right pieces added, we can truly make a run next season ! -
stepped up in the second half
we proved we dont need crowder
we came out flat early on and it bit us on the rear
couldnt do enough offensively to recover
d played a great second half though -

The Defense should have shown up for the whole game, not just for a half. thats twice in a row. Thats on coaching.

sparano has to have them better prepared out of the gate
we hit the field flat out flat
was disgusting to watch -
This team has no identity without ronnie brown. we have nothing that makes us special or exciting anymore. We're an unproductive and lackluster team without the wildcat and like it or not, that means we're unproductive and lackluster team without ronnie brown.
Ricky did fine filling in for a few weeks but he was less and less productive each week since the panthers game and today that was obvious. Thats not rickys fault of course, more so our offensive mindset altogether. We need Ronnie back.
If not him, CJ Spiller. -
4.8 yards per rush
1090 total rushing yards
13 total Touchdowns
2 fumbles lost
And he's a liability?:pity:first&goal and SCall13 like this. -
I agree that Brown is a "must sign" player, especially since Williams may not be back next year. Henne has done a fantastic job maturing over the past month but our offense needs balance...players like Ronnie Brown open up the deep threat like we saw today with Henne/Ginn.
As far as the Ricky Williams comments go...give the guy a break. He did not return to be a 30 carry per game running back and he has done awesome under the circumstances. The fumbles he gave up were tremendous hits, and although you never like to see any turnovers sometimes you can not fully fault the guy. Ricky Williams is a huge asset and we were lucky to have him. -
one thing that REALLY needs to be pointed out with ricky is this. His longest run since the panthers game is 15 yards. second longest was 11. the wildcat was our only way to churn out big plays and we lost that.Frumundah Finnatic likes this. -
ricky was on the field -
