When it comes to Robert Woods, I'm matching him up with our scheme principles and its just a nice fit, there is deception and quickness in his shoulders that is imperative in great route runners, very little wasted movement with great subtlety when running routes..Takes every route seriously and runs them with precision and feel, I believe he's a 2nd round pick..

Robert Woods's "fall" has been interesting to me. There was a time when people thought he was going to be a 1st round pick. I haven't watched him a ton, but I thought he was a pretty decent WR, maybe nothing specia, but not just "another guy"l. He's obviously overshadowed by Lee and coincidentally that's when it seems like his stock started to fall. I'm curious what the concerns are with him, and why some don't feel he is even worthy of a 2nd round pick?

I don't think his hands are that great, and I think he's a little more tight in his running than you want. I don't know that he creates much separation at the next level.
As for the statement "not even worth a 2nd round" pick...one thing to keep in mind is nobody wakes up and rolls out of bed into a 2nd round pick. Nobody is owed it. There are a ton of other players out there all vying for that kind of lofty draft status. I really try not take the negative position on draft picks about why a guy isn't even worth this pick. It happens, but I try to keep things in a positive affirmative way of thinking. You've got to prove to me why you're worth a top 60 pick in the NFL Draft...and you have to do a lot to prove that. I don't think Woods has done enough.sports24/7 likes this. -

You can't punish him for being a good system player, because that's what some teams are looking for. -

He also just finished up doing Tier 2 QBs.

There's a balance, right? I can see Woods going in the late second and helping a team. You're right that he's not a guy I expect to see in a Pro Bowl though.
We are biased because we are sick if guys who don't offer explosive plays. But for teams without a Bess, a guy like Woods is appealing. -
Personally I think when you look across the league most of the mediocre guys are still play makers. They make people miss, break tackles, flash speed, make crazy catches, etc. They just don't do it consistently enough to be considered elite. The guys that are jacks of all master of none...they're the Legedu Naanees, and they're below mediocre, even if they are consistent within the system.

By the way, I don't want Woods.
I want more of a playmaker. But that's because we are tired of the Hartline/Bess types.
I don't agree that Woods has 4th round value. He has second round value to a team looking to bring in a receiver ready to run pro routes, and use good technique. He has a lower ceiling but his floor is NOT fourth round.
Woods would be a great addition to a team like the Jets, who desperately need a reliable body at WR to complement Hill's star potential. -
So Robert Woods is Pattrick Turner 2.0?
