I was always a Tannehill fan but he is not a playmaker, just look at Baker-Mayfield he has a worse team but already carries it, it's sad to accept he is not the answer, i know we have many injuries but i just don't see it. We pay him over 100M $ for being average, hope im wrong but i just don't see it, need to start over, bring a new Qb next year.

I mean, it’s early, but I actually looked at college QBs today after the game.
My brain is telling me something.....DolphinGreg, Redwine4all, danmarino and 1 other person like this. -
I love Tannehill but he just don't has it, he will never be a playmaker, not even a Chad Pennington

Sure. Just as soon as we fix the interior of this line. If you grab another qb without addressing that we will just be having this conversation again in three years. Thill may not be the guy but he is still not the biggest problem here.

Tannehill isnt special, he’s just serviceable. That’s not enough to make it in this league. Not when we have guys like Mahomes and Mayfield about to take over the league. And who knows how Darnold and Allen turn out too and theyre both in our division and have potential long careers.

I agree he us a middling qb that still makes foolish mistakes. I am just saying that you can still win with him until you fix the oline. Then you replace him. Who do you see in next years qb crop that you thinknis an upgrade? I'd like to know because I havent seen anybody yet.

There’s lock..
Then you look at Grier, Browning, Herbert, and Stidham..
In my opinion Grier is the best prospect of the bunch. And you need to stay the hell away from Herbert.. you fall in love with his measurables and skillset but he doesnt have the killer instinct gene.resnor, ripper1961 and Tin Indian like this. -
I believe he will be the next Drew Brees and a great NFL QB. Trade Tannehill for a 4th or 5th round pick while he still has some value and use the 2019 season to get your QB for the next 15 years.resnor likes this. -
I believed the hype in the offseason. Tannehill looked damned fine at the end of ‘16. Now, he’s different.
These fumbles, INTs that look like something from a football follies film. It’s happened several times this year and I think it is time. I hate to say it. He’s tough. He works. But he’s JAG. I’ll give him till the end of the year, but he’s just off right now.
End of the year. If Miami isn’t rolling into the playoffs, I’m done.....resnor likes this. -

I have a new nick name for Tannehill and its Bubbles because all the bubble passes he throws. People its been seven years with nothing to show for it, time to move on. Bye bye Bubbles.

Its funny. I moved to Michigan just before the NFL season last year. While I have no affinity for the Lions, I enjoy sports radio and listen to it a fair bit, and what has struck me is how similar that team is to ours, and how Tannehill is basically a discount Stafford.
What I hear all the time about Stafford are things like passive, not an alpha, no killer instinct, not a great leader. Puts up stats, but is prone to killer turnovers. Lots of garbage time stats. Not a winner, satisfied.
And one of the most interesting and damning - what difference does he make? Does he make the team better, does he win, make crucial plays, drag them to wins and the playoffs and get the team fired up and flying around the way a Brady, Brees, Roger's can? Nope.
And most of that applies to Tannehill, except he has less talent. :/
Time to move on.Bumrush, jdallen1222, josh and 1 other person like this. -
You can sum up our current situation in four words. Daunte. Culpepper. Drew. Brees.
12 years and umpteen coaches and QB's later and we've still got our arm down the pan, sloshing around the U bend, grabbing frantically at passing turds, hoping upon hope that we might catch one that is vaguely polishable.aesop likes this. -

Needed is the more appropriate word. We needed a new qb for a very long time. It only took me about two full seasons to realize THill can't see the field, unable to properly feel the pocket and throws when the pass catchers eventually turnaround. Incapable of throwing someone open with any semblance of anticipation. But what do I know? I'm just a fan.

I was convinced we were drafting a QB this off-season, and had come to peace with that, and was frankly excited.
Then we didn't. So I figured Gase must know something we all don't.
Guess he didn't.Bumrush, jdallen1222, danmarino and 2 others like this. -
Evidence is in. Unless he drastically changes something the rest of the season (and how often does that happen?) then it's clear he is not the guy. He doesn't win us games. He doesn't put the team on his back. He doesn't will us to win. He does not elevate the team and talent around him, he needs the team and talent to elevate him. And we just do not have that team.Redwine4all likes this. -
On a side note, I'm wondering if Falk actually got hurt this past week. Immediately I thought they placed him on injured reserve to buy an additional practice squad year so Gase can work with him longer. I think they're really high on this kid.thetylernator likes this. -
Maybe. I was also more referring to how Gase talked Tannehill up big time all off season, he's his guy, blah blah.

Look I still believe the line is a bigger problem, but you wont find me advocating passing on a sure fire QB in the draft. I just dont see one in college right now.Surfs Up 99 and resnor like this. -
Start with a new HC first. Preferably one that isn't so erroneously arrogant, and adamant about building the entire team around an average QB.
