Jags coming into the rock.
We played very well on the road last year to open the season except our defense so I hope we can replicate the precision on offense.
It did seem that something wasn’t right with that Jag team last year so I hope some dis function is in that locker room.
Jags have been scrambling to sign safeties the last two weeks so that secondary is not secure.
Etienne will be the main threat as a pass catcher

Weaver’s defense is going to either make Lawrence look like a superstar, worthy of his contract or as confused as a baby in a boobie bar. Hopefully the latter.
There may be some rust that needs to get knocked off of the offense, and it’s possible to see a mistake or 2 in the first half, but I see no reason why the juggernaut shouldn’t keep rolling like it did last year. I truly want to see MORE of the ground game this season.

Dolphins: 23
Jags: 13
They can’t sleep on the Jags. Lawrence, albeit underwhelming his first 3 seasons, can light up a defense when he’s on. We will need a good run game, a stout defensive backfield, and a good pass rush to win comfortably.firedan likes this. -

I expect the longest injury report in the league again like every week last year.
Who knows who's playing? Is McDaniel going to be cautious early in the year and hold players out to try and keep healthy later in the year?
Very uneasy going into the game. -

The Odell Beckham saga is already getting tiresome and annoying. I have a feeling he's going to milk this injury for the next two months. As far as the game goes...I don't know. Jacksonville is a tough matchup for us. I have this as a loss to open the season. Definitely hope I'm wrong.

I'm expecting both teams to play well on offense it'll come down to redzone efficiency and turnovers. Early season game so give the slight edge to Miami 31-27.

I think the key to this game is still stopping or containing Etienne
I actually think if you just put Tindall on the field and said follow etienne wherever he goes and hit/tackle him would be a good strategy
I think he’s the only one who can stay with etiennedanmarino likes this. -

Obviously Odell wants to play ball, it does sucks that he can’t, anyone questioning the passion to suit up for the dolphins is not an opinion I have respect for, quite frankly it’s just being obtuse or ignorant imo to suggest otherwise.

The team’s current backups to Josh Hines-Allen and Travon Walker include Yasir Abdullah, Myles Cole and DJ Coleman. Those players have combined for 0 sacks and 45 defensive snaps in the NFL.

My point was, it doesn't matter what Grier says. I'm not saying he isn't right. I'm just saying, even if Odell was being a problem, Grier wouldn't come out and say it.
It's asinine how you respond to things.
While also claiming my posts, or others like mine, are the problem. -
I'm saying, a statement from Grier doesn't mean anything. These are things that people have said for years. Everyone knows coaches and front office people aren't generally going to throw players under the bus publicly.
I was just saying you can't just use team statements as absolute fact.JJ_79 likes this. -
My apologies if that was not your thought process..
Also I wasn’t really directing it towards you more of a general statement to a small minority that thinks that.
I had issues with Odell in the past and the way he carried himself but I never thought he wasn’t playing for the love of the game -
Also, being so sensitive on the internet isn’t really healthy. -

You are exactly what we started this site to get away from. I can't say anything except praise for anything related to the team or you get on me. I've even taken to rarely posting, doesn't matter, you immediately ascribe motive to a post.
Then insult me.dolphin25 likes this. -
It had ZERO to do with OBJ, or the current situation. It was a general response to that mindset. You do understand how conversations go, right? -

after watching every rep of P Paul I think some respect for the front office who made the call on this player amidst some unflattering things on tape is in order.
Also more respect for the coaching as well as it looks like we have a laremy tunsil type situation.
I’ll explain what I mean, when laremy came out of ole miss I studied him very much and while it was obvious his talent was #1 pick overall type talent he would slack off dependent upon the level of comp.
This kid Paul like I’ve been saying since the senior bowl showed how he can just flip his quickness and anger dependent upon the comp.
However most of us would have passed on him beaded in college tape, so I have to give Grier props for recognizing the ceiling and perhaps making the call based on senior bowl tape.
As far as the coaching goes, you absolutely see the Armstead tutoring going on here.
If you listen to Terron over the years he constantly talks about beating the man to the spot, constantly. It’s all about coming off the ball and starting the rep on his terms in the defenders area where he usually has enough space to make a move, and over this preseason you absolutely see that technique being displayed.
The one move he has to continue to work on is that inside counter from the edge. However, I was a big Austin Jackson fan and this was his weakness, it can get better.
Lastly, the aggressive nature this dude has has me very happy, I saw it and talked about it at the senior bowl and it’s now evident.
He’s mean and me likey:) -
