it seems like just a couple of weeks ago, i was rearranging my DVR scheduler to be able to record everything i wanted and having to delete things
now, i look at my DVR and just see seinfeld and the office reruns
give me something good to watch!
sundays used to be a battle with dexter, football and desperate housewives for the lady, and setting back the wire to record at midnight lol
mondays i was still stuck on the event (bad choice) and football
tuesdays i had storm chasers and probably something else. (the colony over the summer)
wed. i still have some upcoming episodes of drinking made easy
thursday was a tightrope between football, greys anatomy and now private practice :tantrum:, then finding the replays of its always sunny and burn notice
friday has been blank since whale (fail) wars ended
sat...nothing
what are you guys recording and watching now? i cant be the only one looking for something decent to watch
now, the best thing i can find while surfing is curb and entourage episodes i have already seen. channel surfing drives me crazy

Honestly there's not much to watch this year. Most of the new shows flopped and weren't able to replace shows like 24 or Lost. The good shows like Dexter & East Bound are over for now.
The only shows I watch now are The Office, Parks & Rec, South Park (which comes back in March), Top Chef and Friday Night Lights (when it comes to NBC in the Spring). I've been killing time until football is on or baseball season starts by rewatching DVDs of my old favorite TV shows (like 24, Lost, The Shield etc).
Honestly now might be a good time to either rewatch old shows you may own on DVD or get Netflix to watch shows you heard were good but have never seen. That's my advice. It's sad how bad TV is right now.maynard likes this. -

Also Justified with Timothy Olafantastic (as Kevin Smith calls him) is back for season 2 in February. It's worth a watch.

Showtime is coming out on January 9th with Shameless. It's a remake of a brit show and features William H Macy and a butt nekkid Emmy Rossum.

Californication is also back very soon. The first 2 episodes for season 4 got leaked online on xmas day.

White Collar should also return in January.

If you don't mind using 'alternative' means I highly suggest getting the first season of Lost Girl. A purely Canadian production about a bi-sexual Succubus in Toronto ;p Worth it for the girl who plays Kensi.

I'm with Stitches on Top Chef vote. Seen the last few seasons and this most recent one is a kind of "all stars" without previous winners. It's been a good season so far.
But I have a show that nobody has listed yet... Southland. It started on NBC, it's now on TNT, and I think it's great. Haven't seen every episode (missed most of season 2, getting caught up now) but the new season starts on TNT next week, Jan 4th.

Everything is on hiatus or between seasons. I can relate to maynard's angst; a few weeks ago I was having to be selective about what to catch up on with on demand (I haven't had TV in a while) and now it's...NOTHING.
I hope I can manage to catch Californication when it comes back on.
Eureka was supposed to have a Christmas special, but I can't find it on demand...anyone catch it? -
What I watch these days:
Rules of Engagement
Detroit 1-8-7 (only new show from this season i watch)
Survivor
Criminal Minds
Modern Family
V (When it comes back)
Fringe
Friday Night Lights (When it comes back)
The Leauge
Shows I kinda watch because my wife loves them:
Grey's Anatomy
Amazing Race
Biggest Loser
How I Met Your Mother -

well at least V is on. its pretty low budget looking, but i like the story.
maybe i will give spartacus another chance. for directv people, the 101 network now has "damages." i never saw it, but i may give it a try. looks like they will be airing every episode until the season premiere of the new season in july
ifc now has the larry sanders show and will be running the whole series as well
almost every showtime show cant keep my attention -

Shameless sucked. My brother and I were waiting for the good part. It was a damn rom com

i find "the cape" pretty decent. i like the concept. ill stick around for a few more episodes and give it a chance
i mentioned "damages" before. i really like it. sort of a legal thriller. glen close is great...reminds me of the work she did in "the shield." ted danson is surprisingly good. directv owns it now. anyone who has it should check it out on the 101 channel -
i have a hard time with anything on showtime that isnt dexter. i really want to like these shows but i cant seem to get into them. its disappointing to pay for a channel and be generally displeased with its original content

There's plenty to watch on Television, but there's just not one of "those shows" that hold my attention. In the past, shows like the X-Files, Sopranos, and others were capable of holding my attention.
But now there's a lot of stuff that's decent, but that I can wait for. Smallville is winding down. True Blood has slipped a little bit. Big Love too. Most of the network shows are pretty awful. That leaves you with the cable shows that are entertaining (No Reservations, Top Chef, Man v. Food) but can become redundant. (Dexter and Californication are both excellent but I haven't ever bothered to subscribe to Showtime.)
That's probably why I cut off my cable last week. With Netflix on my X-Box and PS3 (works great, by the way) and Hulu Plus on my PS3 (works okay some of the time - though it hiccups like crazy during peak hours) I can watch pretty much whatever I want whenever I want. The only thing I miss are shows like The Daily Show, and the premium content offered by folks like HBO and Showtime. And I've taken my cable bill from around 110 to 120 bucks a month down to less than 20. -
I do still look forward to a few shows; Californication is one...Fringe, Eureka, Warehouse 13 and Sanctuary are others.
Men of a Certain Age is turning into our time's Thirtysomething, in a the best possible way. Real, quality writing and acting there.
And Lie to Me is probably the most interesting show on network TV right now. Well-written and a brilliant turn by Tim Roth in this one.maynard, Vengeful Odin and GridIronKing34 like this. -
i saw a few episodes of shameless. not too bad, tbh. ill try to get into californication.

detroit 187 has been alright so far as well.

Not to mention that it is refreshing to see one program that portrays a balls-out lifestyle unapologetically, without the seemingly requisite morality of the new world order. -

Blue Mountain State is hilarious and is football related. It has that raunchy-style of comedy though so it may not be up your alley. I've gotten a few friends hooked on the show and it's available on Netflix instant queue too if you have that service. Personally I am a huge fan of that show and the previously mentioned Californication... other than The Office and South Park, there isn't too much else I watch except for stuff on Adult Swim.

spartacus gods of the arena has been pretty good so far i must admit.
