Curious where the fan base stands with Henne heading into tonight's game. Last year I was on the bandwagon that Henne would make significant improvement. Didn't take long watching Henne on the field of play to jump off the wagon and start hoofing it, hell gallop, the other way. TC reports are Henne has improved from last year.
So are you BUYING are SELLING that Henne will do the following this year:
Lead Miami to a minimum of 9 wins and have a QB rating of 85 or higher.
As for me, cautiously optimistic. One butt cheek on and one off. But I vote "YES" until proven otherwise.
Henne will lead Miami to 9 win minimum and have 85 QB rating or higher?

I think he'll do it, if for no other reason than to force fans to play the "Is Chad Henne our guy?" game again
-
Can you sell me a call option for this? Expiring around week 13?

I feel good about Henne turning the corner this year. He is no longer (hopefully) under the oppression of coaches that put him under so much pressure of having to being too careful. To be a successful QB, you have to take some chances and trust your receivers. Hell, even Marino wasn't always perfect - putting up some balls with faith that his receivers could/would make the play for him. Hell, Favre made a career out of it (which is evident by the fact that threw more INTs than any QB in NFL History). Bottom line: don't handcuff a guy with the kind of arm Henne has. Don't destroy his confidence. Let him play loose. Allow him to feel comfortable. ALLOW him to gel with his offensive team mates. Good things can happen if the coaching staff allows it.

I'm selling. I don't think this team wins 9 games this year for a variety of reasons - not all of which are related to Chad Henne's deficiencies.

He's not a terrible player to sit Landry Jones behind for a year. Maybe Tannehill.
-
considering as bad as Henne was at times last year, we were a couple caught INTS away from a winning record. If Henne improves even a little, we'll be fine.
-
I'm selling hard in hopes that I am very wrong. Just don't see it happening.

8-8, so selling

Regardless of one's opinion of Henne, nothing matters more than how much Sparano throttles Henne, through Daboll.
The less Sparano interferes with the gameday Offense, the more success Henne will be eligible to have on his own merits.
Bet one for bad, Raymond. -
Ill buy it. Not to sound like a homer but our defense looks pretty damn good on paper. Really, aside from the the offensive backfield there are few if any severe question marks about this team. Pressure is going to be off Henne a little bit the way I see it because hes going to have more support then he has the first few years. There are more weapons then in past years, a defense that should allow less then 20PPG (probably in the 18-19 or so range, allowed 20.8PPGA last year so moderate improvement) an improved offensive line which should in turn make the running game if Reggie Bush and Daniel Thomas are up for being the Miami version of thunder and lightning.
If the running game doesnt happen then ill bet there is a new QB on board here in 2012. Henne cant do it alone but i think he can do it with help. -
Selling. 9-7 is the best this team will do, and if we do it, it will happen because of our defense.
-
Buying, not sure about the 85 QBR, but do think we've finally added enough pieces that Henne cannot help but succeed, the one wildcard on the 9 wins is, where does ST shake out?
-
I'm buying that THIS TEAM will lead the team to a winning record, and Henne will be a part of it.
Just as I didn't feel it was Henne's fault we had a losing season, he wont deserve all the credit if we have a winning season.
That's not b/c I think Henne will have a bad year or anything, but rather b/c I believe this team is talented enough to win without relying on him every week. -
This dude is Jay Fiedler. In year 5 the entire thing will be scrapped and some douchebag will find the next Daunte Culpepper.

I'd like to wait until they at least play their first game before I "buy or sell" anything.

This will be his 4th year in the NFL, 3rd year playing. Not making anymore excuses.
