Poll - Brady to the Dolphins

Of course you take him if he wants to come here. Anyone who would choose tua over Brady needs their head examined

I think there needs to be a 4th option. Something that combines loving the idea, but also hating myself for loving the idea.

I voted the middle option but it didn't really capture how I feel. Brady for one year? Sure, let's make a run. But then what? Do we trade Tua, who we're supposed to be building an entire offense around? That's a catastrophic mistake.

Now, if there's someone we love in the '23 draft at QB then okay- the Brady short-term deal makes sense. If the potential ownership stuff is true, that also gives Brady a transition from the field to the office. But my #1 concern is still a long-term franchise quarterback. The benefits of having Brady on the field or the front office would be huge though, we'd be able to recruit at a discount like mad. So I love everything about the idea...but I want to know who our starting QB is in '23 or '24 up front.

Overall, I think I'd pass. There's too many variables we wouldn't be able to answer today. It would be very intriguing though.

Where did these rumors come from lol first time hearing about it and i would say Tom is acting very odd this offseason. He literally got a whole bunch of players to re-sign for the Buccs just to leave them?

Well, you did hear about the team wanting to meet with a star QB in Miami a couple years ago and our former coach saying no way, now how and leaving , right?

And there was also a quote from Brady that same time frame saying, " you would rather have that QB over me?" Something to that affect.

So, there is smoke on the situation, or there was.

If Brady would play 2 years that would be very interesting. Possible 2 Super Bowls?? would it feel real, or rented? Would it matter?

I think at this point and time I would pass. I'd rather hopefully win with a team put together by the Dolphins.

After 2 years then what? We are back to trying to find a franchise QB

Dolphins didn't even have a QB then.

But I also don't think he specified that it was a QB so it could have been Flores.

He’s still under contract with Tampa, no? What could they possibly give up to get him after the Hill trade? X and both first round picks next year?

Brady is the archetypical Dolphins villain. Ranks up there with Jim Kelly. The idea of him as a villain is romantic in a way that shouldn't be tampered with, IMO. That's how I want to remember him.

Two years ago? Tempting. Brady might have one good season left in him, and then a season where his body finally fails him. I'd rather ride with Tua and look for another QB in 2023 if need be.

I'm a little surprised how many of you guys would be fine with this. It's just wrong, to my mind. If Brady were to be brought in I wouldn't watch the Dolphins until he left and maybe not until ownership changed. It just makes no sense, and maybe makes a mockery of what it means to support a team.

Guys at work wouldn't let it go, and they'd have a point. "The Dolphins couldn't find success with the Brady lead Patriots dominating the division and now they only find success by bringing in the Brady who beat them?"

It's selling out.

Not to mention all the talk about cheating.

What does it mean to follow any one team if all the pieces are completely interchangeable, without any sense of identity?

Personally, I do not want Brady. I didn't want DeShaun, Aaron, Russell and many other highly prized free agent QB's either (except Peyton...but that's different!). However, it wasn't because Brady used to be a Pat...I just believe in developing your own QB and not breaking the bank because someone did great somewhere else. That doesn't mean it will translate to your offense and now you're in cap hell while missing several important pieces.

Bring in an elite QB means "loading up" and it's not sustainable. Maybe it gets you a super bowl, maybe 2, but eventually the dominoes are going to fall. I'm highly against that philosophy. For example, we did that with Suh and the big man was great, but what did it ultimately get us? Maybe 1 extra win per year? We traded away a lot to make that happen and it just wasn't worth it.

For Brady specifically, I do have some interest because it sounds like Ross wants him to become the successor to the team. Why- I have no idea, but it sounds like those conversations started at least a year ago. So if Brady's all-in on Miami long-term, that changes my thinking some, it's not a one and done situation. He can bring big-named players to Miami at a discount. Heck, he can convince people like Gronk to un-retire just by asking. Do you think anyone on our team has that kind of pull? Heck no. Nobody does in the league today- maybe a handful of players, coaches and GM's at most.

So Brady could be huge for us- not in 2022, but in 2030 and beyond. Plus he's a solid QB. But my focus is having him in the front office almost like a Pat Riley for the Heat. It's a business move that makes a ton of sense, and it also kind of slaps the Pats in the mouth by him not wanting to do it there.

I think if Tua busts the 2022 season (by being unreliable/injury prone or just not producing the way hes expected to with the weaponry and offensive line he has)

and then add the Buccaneers fail to make the super bowl,

if those two things happen, i see Brady signing here in the 2023 offseason on a 2-3 year deal. That buys us time to find a quarterback to groom behind him

Assuming he hasn't declined yet this team with Brady would certainly be a legitimate contender

Well that is why I don't think he is talking about Miami. He would have known Miami would be going to the draft and not "sticking" with anyone.

Its probably Jimmy G because it was reported he wanted to go there and they decided he wasn't an upgrade. Oops.

Atleast it’s a better idea then all the casuals calling for a Jimmy G to Miami trade.

But Brady to Miami is not happening.

I can't answer this poll because I'm so conflicted between the idea of a possible Super Bowl run with Brady and the possibility that Tua will turn the corner with McDaniel.

So no vote for me.

I could see it for his selfish reasons alone he’d rather retire in Miami then Tampa for sure. Play a year or two there and retire

I enjoyed seeing Marcia with his head in his hands towel over his head crying on the sidelines way too much. Making Marcia cry was the highlight of the seasons past for me. If Marcia is on our sideline wearing aqua making him cry would be a bad thing for the Dolphins. Please don't take that from me. Please.
