Gonna be ugly here all week here in Mobile AL according to the weather guessers. We will have rain storms off and on including on game day.
Could make for some miserable practices

There are some really good prospects playing this year. I'm glad it is becoming more and more popular for some top players to participate in the Senior Bowl. Can't wait to start reading reports about them!

Russell Wilson checks in below 5'11 as I expected
-
-
But he displays power and hand use. Two things I like in a pass rusher.Boomer, SICK, ToddsPhins and 1 other person like this. -
Keep an eye on Armando Sprewell.

I think of Melvin Ingram as another Adalius Thomas.
-
George Iloka is a big winner. He came in at a whopping 6035 with 222 lbs on his frame, 9 and 5/8ths hands and 34 inch arms. This is Kam Chancellor all over agian. Iloka made some plays at Boise State, too.
Kirk Cousins coming in at 6022 is a win for him. There were some that were sure he was coming in at 6'1".
Markelle Martin came in about 6'1" and 206 lbs, very solid. But small 8.5" hands will not convince people that he's going to be a ball hawk any time soon. That was the big nit pick about his game in Oklahoma State, too many dropped balls.
Quinton Coples coming in 6'6" and 281 lbs...looks great. Not freakish long arms or anything though, "only" at 33 and 1/8th. Over 10 inch hands, plenty big enough.
Melvin Ingram even worse off than Upshaw. He's about a full 6'2" and 276 lbs but with 30.5 inch arms, he's a T-Rex. Hands big enough at 9.25".
Kelechi Osemele went on a diet and made himself some money at 6053 and 333 lbs, 10 and 3/8ths hands and 35.25" arms.
Cordy Glenn even bigger at 6054 and 346 lbs (believe he's the heaviest in Mobile), 10" hand and 35 and 1/8th arms.
Mike Adams is a monster at 6070 and 323 lbs, 11 inch hands and 33.75" arms. But give some credit to Zebrie Sanders matching his 11 inch hands on a 6054 frame with 308 lbs, looking pretty trim and athletic, with requisite 34 and 5/8ths arms.
Nick Foles is the monster at QB with a full 6050 and 244 lbs, monstrous 10.75 inch hands and 33 inch arms. I actually would prefer shorter arms. Better for passing mechanics.
Ryan Lindley came in 6036 and 229 lbs, 10 and 1/8th inch hands, 32.25" arms.
Russell Wilson is only 5105 but 203 lbs with 10 inch hands and 31.25" arms.
Brandon Weeden is a veritable t-rex (which I like in my QBs), at 6034 and 219 lbs, with 9.5 inch hands and 30 and 5/8ths arms.
Kellen Moore's 29 and 7/8ths arms match his 5116 frame, but only 191 lbs on him is a big concern. Hands are big enough at 9 and 3/8ths.
Ladarius Green has the WR like frame at 6056 and 237 lbs, 10 inch hands and 32 and 7/8ths arms.
Jeff Fuller is huge of course, nothing new there, 6041 and 217 lbs with 9 and 3/8ths hands and 34 and 1/8th arms.
Dwight Jones came in 6031 and a solid 226 lbs, with 9 inch hands and 33 and 5/8ths arms.
Gerrell Robinson came in a "shredded" 6031 and 223 lbs with 10 inch hands and 32.5" arms.
Joe Adams came in tall enough at 5104 but only 174 lbs which isn't near as much mass as he needs IMO. 9 and 3/8ths hands and 31 and 3/8ths arms.
DeVier Posey is the guy that's a lot bigger than maybe some would have thought at 6015 and 209 lbs, 9.25" hands and 31 and 3/8ths arms.
Poor Patrick Edwards of Houston is only 5087 and 168 lbs, 8.5" hands and 29 and 3/8ths arms. Yikes.UCF FINatic and schmolioot like this. -
Marvin McNutt had the largest hands of any Senior Bowl WR... 10 1/8 inches.
He's DEFINITELY worth looking at with our 2nd/3rd round pick. -

Practice is on NFL Network right now if you have it

North and South practices are held simultaneously so you're forced to decide which one to go see.
Jeff Ireland chose the South practice. That's the one featuring Brandon Weeden, Nick Foles and Ryan Lindley.
Josh Norris says Lindley has the quickest release but that honor would belong to Weeden if not for a habit of patting the football with his off hand just before the throw. Foles slow release, doesn't like awkward mechanics in setup pre-release.
Lindley already giving some Randall Cunningham/Donovan McNabb one-hoppers that hit the ground before they reach their intended target. Weeden already with a fumble on his first snap from under Center.
Early jitters.
Mike Mayock absolutely raving about Russell Wilson. Says he's another Doug Flutie and he doesn't care how tall he is. On the other hand he tore Kellen Clemens a new one.
Scouts are raving about Sean Spence evidently, and some scouts like Mike Adams even as high as the top 15. -
Cousins has a nice arm ... never saw him play before
-
Jeff Fuller trying to work against Janoris Jenkins. Sounds like a good battle that Jenkins even at his small stature is (predictably) winning.
Brandon Weeden with a beautiful deep ball to Juron Criner down the sidelines over Ryan Steed. Then another ball great touch on a 17 yard deep out after going through progression in 7 on 7.
Boykin, Steed and Jenkins the most physical corners off the jam. Raheem Morris' DB Coaching already seeing the corners play way more press than we saw all last week (although IMO we saw tons of physical style coverage by East CBs).
Dwight Jones gets off the press consistently, using his hands well in routes to get position, doing well so far.
Brian Quick is leggy and having trouble getting out of breaks, catching the ball.
Josh Norris says Ryan Lindley is throwing inexcusably low on about half of his throws.SICK likes this. -

Kellen Clemens? :p

Weeden continues with the hot hand, throwing a nice 15 yard in during 11 on 11's to a diving Joe Adams. Cordy Glenn working at Left Tackle (interesting) and controlled Courtney Upshaw on the play.
Nick Foles gets would-be sacked twice in a row, holding the ball 5+ seconds both times.
Brandon Thompson gets two pressures in a row right up the middle, good off the snap.
Brian Quick runs right by Asa Jackson for a long TD.
Wes Bunting says Cam Johnson is looking really good off the edge.Aquafin likes this. -
I have to say a lot of my guys are getting good reviews so far...Cam Johnson, Brandon Weeden, Brandon Thompson. Dwight Jones and Quinton Coples both looking good. Coples dominating Zebrie Sanders in pass rush.
-
Coples looking good in drills, dominating Zebrie Sanders in pass rush. Zebrie giving up too much ground, afraid of Coples speed around the edge.
Ben Volin says that Kirk Cousins throws a "rocket" and that Vinny Curry is looking good.
Wes Bunting says George Iloka is a little leggy but shows good burst out of breaks and finds the ball quickly, had a good practice.
Melvin Ingram is having a tough time defending the edge on roll outs.
Jake Bequette is not a linebacker, I think we know that.
Ta'amu showing nothing in pass rush. Think we knew that too. -
Omar Kelly thinks Alfonzo Dennard can run plenty well, which is a question some have about Dennard after Alshon Jeffery ran by him in the bowl game.
Mitchell Schwartz (a tackle) was forced to take snaps from Center after Garth Gerhart left with an injury. He's held his own apparently, no problems.
Ta'amu ha some reports saying he's not been good in pass rush but Tony Pauline loves his power off the snap, ability to push linemen into the backfield. Wes Bunting agrees but says he gets too high sometimes which limits him.
TFY also thinks Mike Adams has been dominant in middle part of practice.
TFY says that Brian Linthecum (whom I always liked better than teammate Charlie Gantt) has been very impressive all day, lots of catches, looks very athletic.
Also according to TFY, Senio Kelemete has looked very impressive and very athletic all day stopping several good pass rushers like Jack Crawford and Vinny Curry dead in their tracks, dominating them.
Mike Martin and Mike Brewster have had some excellent battles.
Shea McLellin making the adjustment to LB pretty well so far.
TFY doesn't share Omar Kelly's high opinion of Dennard, says he's struggled with back pedal and transition today, doesn't quite have his feet under him yet.
Isaiah Pead has been the most elusive and creative ball carrier in North practice, on one run making two defenders miss with a cutback.
Mike Egnew looking pretty smooth running and catching the ball. He's a big framed guy.
Vinny Curry was initially matched on Mike Adams and actually beat Adams much of the time.
Marvin Jones stood out in one on ones, may be the best route runner on the North
Kirk Cousins with the best arm on the North.
DeView Posey's looked good. T.J. Graham's looked good. Marvin McNutt struggled in early going.
Kellen Moore does not look good.
Gerrell Robinson struggling to catch the ball. -
Can't wait to see Ladarius Green and Vinny Curry.

John Congimi...(spelling?) was just on finsiders.....he said Weeden looked really good out there. Said..he really looked the part. Showed leadership, and really got in well with recievers he had never played with before. Also mentioned when asked about the age issue, and he said....Weeden could just as well have an advantage with his age for some teams looking for a franchise QB, because you wont go through that GROW UP period with him.....overall sounded very impressed with Weeden...did say there is no way he is 6' 4 as he is listed....but the ball explodes of his hand...

Does anyone know any links to coverage on the Senior Bowl practices? I looked around on the NFL website, but could only find last years Senior Bowl clips.
Thanks in advance! -
Bit disappointed with the NFLN coverage today. 1 hour and they are interviewing Frazier for 5 minutes of it. :pity: Just show the one on one drills and let Mayock comment on it. All of the other stuff they can do afterwards. From little I saw... Mike Adams, T from Ohio State... good lord....
-
this might be a great year for the Phins to take advantage of all the Miami players that are underrated because of the horrific Miami playcalling/coaching. Spence, Lamar Miller, Streeter etc. I think they are all undervalued (then again i am an admitted UM homer).
-
Could a really strong showing by Warden move him back into the first round? Maybe even the top 10?

FWIW:
Chatted up Chris Rainey and Patrick Edwards, two smaller, blazingly fast players, we can only hope this trend continues.
