Remember that Brandon Marshall guy?

I could name 5 teams off the top of my head Matt Moore could be starting for. All we need to do is board the Jay Train. Choo Choo.

one thing I do like about Moore is his eagerness to throw deep passes :) just needs to know when is a good time and when is not lol
I feel stills and parker benefiting tremendously from Moore taking snaps.dolphin25 likes this. -

For me, Matt Moore starting creates more anxiety than anything else.. I just dread the INT's coming our way at inappropriate times (unless he's changed). But yes, at least he'll sling it more which can help make big plays.
Regardless, there's no reason to be down on this team. We finally found a good HC and there's no reason we can't still make the playoffs even with Moore.. the entire team just has to step up like it did against the Cardinals. -
-
I'm hoping that what I saw of him in the preseason wasn't indicative of what he'll be capable of with the starters around him. That's about as hopeful as I can get in this situation.

Off the top of my head I can't remember, what contract is Moore on? Looking slightly longer term, if Moore comes in and has a good few weeks is there any chance we trade him in the off season? Not like there aren't a few teams that will be looking for new QBs
-
I am sure Gase is not going to say, "sorry RT you are done here, don't let the door hit you one way out." Gase is saying what he should say for all the right reasons. -

So, are you starting with excuses for Moore already? "Gase might scale back the offense preventing him from doing anything (he) likes to do." Give your head a shake. I seriously wonder if you've watched a game, or if you just stare at Brandon Doughty on the sidelines, or in the stands if you spot him on tv. I mean seriously. Adam Gase has adjusted and modified this offense all season long to play to the strengths of his players. Whether it was Ryan Tannehill, or Jay Ajayi, or the pool OL, I mean... it's pretty obvious he's not going to do that.
Nobody puts their back up in mid game and starts throwing right away, especially when he hasn't played in years. You give him time to adjust, you give him a few quick easy confidence building passes to adjust, then you go with what he's comfortable with. If Gase sat down with Tannehill early this season and asked for his input in the game plan he's sure as hell going to do that with Moore who's getting the start now. That's just what good teams and coaches do.
I really don't understand where you're coming from 3/4's of the time, and I'm positive I'm not alone in that. Before you go there, it's NOT because of your opinion on Tannehill's play. You're entitled to that. I get we don't all agree on him, sometimes though, I'm just really not sure what you're trying to accomplish.

As for those saying we might open up the offense more with Moore, because he has this glorious deep ball, I'd caution you to look at the ball to Stills yesterday. It's a jump ball. Most of his past deep ball success was with Marshall, who is one of the best at going up and getting it.
I'm not confident in Matt Moore. He's going to play like a backup. That's what he is. As long as he doesn't give the game away, we should be fine. I am however confident that Adam Gase will put together a gameplan that allows us to win with Matt Moore. As our coach, and essentially our OC he's put together plans all year long that allowed Ryan Tannehill to put up career numbers, and glaringly obvious improvements in his game. For that reason, I think we will be fine.Brasfin and LI phinfan like this. -
If Gase comes in and calls one looks plays then NO he is not doing what Moore does well, but it is SAFE.
Did you WATCH the play to Stills? He threw it with the DBs back to the QB Stills made a great adjustment too, AND it was really the only throw he could make at the time since he was drilled almost as soon as he got the ball. If you insert Tannehill in there on that throw you would be saying how great it was....... Not sure what your agenda is in saying it was not a great play by Moore. If he does not throw it or takes sack, game likely goes into OT.
You continue to want to stir things up all the while saying you aren't.. It is comical really. -

When you look back to sparanos last year, when Moore played pretty well... Todd Bowles took over with 3 games to go. We finished with 3 straight division games.
1-a crazy win in buffalo vs. Fitzpatrick. Bush-200 yards.
2- a narrow loss in Foxboro
3- another wild win to spoil Rex Ryan's last playoff run.
We next finished with 3 division games in 2013. I'm sure you remember that debacle after the M.Thomas INT to beat the pats.
Here were are again, with 3 division games. Again this time we hold a playoff spot and all the same people stand in our way. -

So Matt Moore's been in this spot for us. If you believe Adam Gase has helped RT and can adapt the offense, you''ve got to have some expectations for Moore to manage.

Your wrong on that Stills pass IMO, but I covered that in the other thread though, I guess we can do it here too. IMO, Moores intention is to lead stills on his route into the endzone. Stills has man coverage, and a step or two on his man. That ball was supposed to be into the endzone. Instead it's underthrown because Moore is completely blasted by a free blitzer, Stills then makes the adjustment. Moore didn't underthrow that on purpose as you're trying to claim apparently. It's a heck of a play by Moore to stand in there and take that shot. But it's not the play you're making it out to be. It was underthrown because he couldn't step into it because of the hit, and Stills adjusted. Just watch the replay of Stills... His route is to take him into the endzone, that's where the ball was designed to go. It didn't get there because of the hit. It's a heck of a play by Moore, but it's awfully lucky at the same time.
I don't care who the QB is, so stop trying to make this about that. I've credited Moore for it, but just not the way you want to, because well, it doesn't appear that's how it went down to me when looking at it objectively.Dolphins Dad likes this. -

My contribution to "let's be positive about Matt Moore":
Adam Gase has engineered offensive output with Tim ****ing Tebow at QB. Matt Moore is a capable backup.
I forgot how old he was though. He doesn't look that old. But thinking back to how long ago it was when he was making noise in Carolina, he definitely is that old. Here's hoping his career can end with a nice playoff run! -
