It’s just come up on two different sites that Tom Brady is about to announce his retirement.
Because of his association with the Patriots, I know he is not universally liked by Dolphins fans, but his achievements within the sport cannot be denied.

One of the greatest ever. I'm not only happy he finally retired, but that he retired after winning a SB with a team not named NE. He really helped show how much Belichick benefited from having an elite QB. Belichick in NE still hasn't won a playoff game without him.
Now if only Belichick would retire before breaking Shula's total win mark (Belichick is at 321 while Shula is at 347.. getting precarious).KeyFin, JJ_79 and Phil Hutchings like this. -

And when you consider the 7-3 record in Super bowls, absolutely unreal:
EPA = nflfastR expected points added per play (efficiency)
CPOE = nflfastR completion % over expected (accuracy)
DVOA = F.O. defense-adjusted value over average (efficiency)
DYAR = F.O. defense-adjusted yards above replacement (gross production)
PFF = individual PFF offense grade
QBR = ESPN total QBR; measure of win probability added per play
Sack% = sack rate (sacks/total dropbacks)
AirYds = Air yards per attempt
CP = nflfastR completion probability based on situation & air yards
PFF Recv = team PFF receiving grade
PFF Pblk = team PFF pass block grade
PA/G = team points allowed per game -

There’s a chance Adam Schefter is gonna end up looking really stupid in a few days. His sources arent as solid as before and he may have jumped on this too quickly to try to be first.

First off, I don’t give a crap about Brady. The league changed so many rules that helped him amass the stats he has. With that being said…
If he wants to continue playing, so be it. If he wants to retire and spend time with his wife and kids, so be it.
Personally, if it were me; a multimillionaire who’s scaled the pinnacle of football greatness, I’d be calling it a career. What good is all of that money if you’re too broken down to enjoy it? Not to mention the time spent away from the kids.
But that’s just meKeyFin likes this.
