How does this play, or does it, against Austin's 4.25? Being satisfied, or leaning towards, Patterson at 12, does this in any way keep a rise by Austin and his promotors at bay?

To me, it doesn't. Patterson has shown he can play outside and has shown me the physical skills to create separation with his hands and make plays in tight coverage. Austin hasn't.

So you're saying he doesn't have the balls to trade up in the same breath you're criticizing him for... trading up.

I think Patterson had the day he needed to have. A 10'8" broad jump, 37" vertical, 4.37 in the 40 yard dash. He already had upward momentum and I think that's enough to maintain it. The only slight mark on it is the simple fact that so many guys ran even faster. I have 5 guys with faster unofficial times and 5 guys with faster "official" times (not the same 5).
Marquise Goodwin ran a 4.25 (or possibly down to a 4.19)
Tavon Austin ran a 4.25
Kenny Stills ran a 4.28
Markus Wheaton ran a 4.34
Denard Robinson ran a 4.34
That surprises me. Goodwin and Austin don't really surprise me, nor Wheaton really...but Robinson and Stills do. Yet, I probably shouldn't hold that against Cordarrelle. He's still a "freak". Austin and Goodwin are 5'9" (174 and 183 lbs). Robinson is 5'10" (199 lbs), Wheaton is 5'11" (189 lbs) and Stills is the tallest at 6'0" (194 lbs). Patterson is 6'2" and 216 lbs. That's freaky.Larryfinfan and ToddPhin like this. -

The injuries are a serious problem though, not talent, if he cannot get on the field he's useless to us.
As for Patterson, I like his game, but think Ireland is pretty much locked into the "25 games in college" approach, which means he is not on the menu imo. -
National Football Post are reporting that Patterson didn't interview at all well and that he might slip down some boards because of it. Conjecture on their part, but do you think his rumoured immaturity will affect his draft stock with some teams?

Well, real issue is he only has 1 yr experience, Ireland usually goes for 3 yr starters who have played 25 games or more.

I'm going to be honest I saw an article earlier talking about how the NFL is interested in Manti Te'o's sexuality even though by the rule of the CBA it should be against the rules even to ask him the question...and the first thing I thought was, jesus christ...Jeff Ireland strikes again. No lie. I was convinced Ireland just asked Te'o if he's gay during the interview.
Which would have clearly been out of bounds yet I'm sure many people here would defend it.jegol71, Bpk and schmolioot like this. -
He's just doing his homework after all....... -
Jeff Ireland: "So your girlfriend turned out to be Ronaiah Tuiasasopu?"
Manti Te'o: "Well, a hoax organized by him, yes."
Jeff Ireland: "Are you a homosexual, then?"
See. Perfectly reasonable. Follows right through the logical flow of the conversation.

Don't get me wrong, the article did not state that anyone asked him this question. It was kind of a misleading title. It more pondered whether it would be OK. But based on the headline I just kept scanning through the thing to make sure because I was absolutely convinced based on the title that Ireland just stepped in it again.

Not surprised it came up though. -

I could really see Ireland bringing it up, "so uhm, have you been to any alternative clubs?" -
