Colin Cowherd: “The Dolphins offense this season is not only good, it’s all-time good. Points per game: third-best all-time, 37 a game. Yards per play, total yards per game—the best ever. They’ve humiliated a lot of really BAD defenses. Versus Buffalo they scored 20, vs. New England they struggled in the second half. They play Philadelphia next week, Jalen Carter is coming back—they won’t look like what they’ve looked against the bad teams. Miami’s wins are against teams who are 4-22. They’re a bit of a Big 12 team, it feels like some empty calories. Those Big 12 teams score 60 a game, go play an SEC team and get their head bashed in. Miami looks like a team from Miami should look like. Fun, flare, flashy, fast. They’re the speedboat of the NFL. Speedboats in January, windy and cold weather, are silly and useless. Seventy against Denver, 42 against Carolina, almost 40 against the Chargers. It’s like if Bitcoin, NFT’s, infomercials, and TikTok had a baby; it would be Miami’s offense. I don’t know how sustainable it is, I don’t necessarily buy it in December and January. I think it’s fun, but when I watch the way this league turns out year after year, there’s September and early-October football, lots of points, then injuries pile up, pass protection and pass rushes become really important, and those sorts of teams tail off. I feel like that’s Miami."

We could win a SB and he'd still hate on us lol. Speaking of which, Vegas doesn't think we're fake. We're 5th most likely to win the SB according to them, after SF, KC, Philly and Buffalo. Actually Vegas separates that into 2 tiers: SF and KC in the 1st tier, and Philly, Buffalo and Dolphins in the 2nd tier with very similar odds.

I’m throughly enjoying this season but I also can see why people aren’t buying the hype. We haven’t beaten a team with a winning record, have one of the worst defenses in the NFL and got stomped by the only team we’ve played with a winning record.
Having said that, I’m hopeful that our D will get better as the season progresses, especially when we get Ramsey back.Springveldt, Dorfdad and hitman8 like this. -
We haven't beaten a team with a winning record, but we did beat the Chargers who are much better than their record indicates. We whooped Denver who was expected to be better under the lead of Sean Payton, we beat a Giants squad that was a playoff team 8 months ago, we beat the Patriots who were expected to be better than what they are as well. If you would have looked at the schedule back in July and predicted 5-1 at this point, then I give you all the props for that. I had us at 3-3 based off of just the schedule alone. So while we haven't beaten a team with a winning record, we haven beaten four teams that have underachieved thus far and a Carolina team who straight up sucks. I'm not mad about our record at all. The real test comes against the Eagles. After that, I think we'll all know where this team is at.
-
Thing is, if our offense doesn't play well against Philly, he's going to look like he was right.

It doesn't matter. If we lose, we're flashes in the pan. If we win, it'll be because Philly's missing players on defense. The best we can do is keep winning and let the season play out. It's kind of funny that we apparently had the second-hardest schedule in the league when schedules were released, but now, we can't find good teams to play.

I am sorry...
i do not want to hear from Cowherd.
He is an idiot.
His hate for Tua and the Dolphins has been legendary.
He does not get to sing our praises now.
Best to ignore this clown... Nationwide mass boycott.djphinfan likes this. -

Cowherd, Bayless, and several others get paid to share unpopular opinions. Saying all-time good is not real is so laughable that it doesn't even deserve a response. I mean, they've had the best 6-week start to a season ever...but it's fake? Tyreek is 150 yards away from a thousand yard season....in week 6! Achane is #3 in rushing, even though he's only played 3 of the 6 games. I don't think a talking head could make a dumber comment to be honest.
To his point, the Dolphins could fall apart if Tua gets injured. But that's true for any team in the league right now.
He also talks about the road to the Super Bowl requires conquering the weather. Valid point. We have to go up north to Philly, KC, NY, and Baltimore. Two of those games are in November, so not exactly artic conditions. But let's say we lose all four of them, that's still a 12-5 team that will probably have home-field advantage throughout most of the playoffs. It's more likely that we split those games, end around the 14 win mark, and take the #1 seed in the AFC.
I mean, who else is going to beat us? NE, Oakland, Tenn, or the Jets in Miami? The Cowboys have a shot depending on which team shows up. There's really nobody else to fear- we have 5 challenging games left (six if you count @NY). And I'm probably giving Dallas and Baltimore too much credit.
I see 3 or 4 potential losses and then the playoffs flow through Miami. -
Spot on....
Take care of business against lesser teams... Split with Philly and KC... and homefield to the Superbowl belongs to the Dolphins. -
Cowturd say's a lot of stupid things. That's why he get's the big bucks.

He’s a bandwagon hopping attention whoore -
Pretty reasonable. They've had the weakest schedule in football by a lot. Got blown out by the only team that was .500+. The teams they beat have a combined record of 5-24. Eagles will be an actual test.

The teams Miami have beaten, save the Chargers…we’ve not just won those games, we’ve OBLITERATED those teams.
Had we won all of those games by a touchdown or less, that would be something to seriously look at, but that hasn’t been the case.
The loss to Buffalo…IN Buffalo? Since when have division games ever been easy ones? Especially playing them on THEIR home turf?
You are right about the Philadelphia game though. It is going to be a test. I’m optimistic we can and will win that game but even if we don’t…
1. I’d rather lose to Philadelphia as it is a non-conference game.
2. I don’t want us to get blown out.
if we lose this game 32-27…less than a touchdown, it’s not the end of the world. After all, the Eagles were in the Super Bowl last year. Than in itself makes any team they play an instant underdog.VManis likes this. -
Cowherd is an idiot. He actually claims that the #1 rushing offense in the league won't do well late in the year????
Why do these asshats insist on changing the narrative to fit their agenda? Any other team gets praised for having a running game that can help them in the playoffs and in cold weather.
Miami on offense has one issue. They struggle with dominant front fours, especially if Williams is not in at center. We shall see if the current group on the OL can continue to improve or if changes are required next year.
Against the Bills they moved the ball on offense. A couple of mistakes on offense and a defense that could not stop the Bills were the issues. -
He's entitled to his opinion. But when you hear him offer it, consider the source before thinking he knows anything. For example:

“Bigger, stronger, better athlete” seemed to be his go-to response for most of the names floated out there. When he sniffed in derision when Joy mentioned Sam Darnold, I thought he was going to finally name Tua. When he didn’t, I figured he just dislikes Tua for some reason. -
Far more players fail then become elite in the NFL. Negative analysis is right more often than not. Pluss, you can just hop on the train when it's obvious and ignore bad takes as there will be more that were correct. It's guys that say "no this guy is good at this even if the results aren't there yet " when it's not obvious that are the ones to pay attention to. Dan Orlovsky was always fair about Tua for example.

I personally dont buy into the whole weve only beaten teams with bad records nonsense..
chargers are always tough competition, theyre literally in a shootout as i am posting against Mahomes, patriots just beat the bills, theyre a division rival and historically we are always in a competitive fight against the patriots.. even the aj feeley lead dolphins beat a super bowl hungry patriots, thats how it goes when we play them..
we took care of some teams that if youre truly THAT team, you handle your business and win the games youre supposed to win.resnor and Silverphin like this. -
Jalen looked pretty damn good tonight.
Looked exactly like the QB I've seen you talk about for years that you want.vmarcilfan75 likes this. -
I mean if he's gonna run around acting like I said Tua was the second coming of Ryan Leaf, and I was a Tua hating troll, then he should expect for some comments. -
Not saying he's better than Tua, just that he played well last night -
