To me, the most bizarre thing to come out of all of this (and lets face it, its weird), is how for so many people, the flag ONLY means the military. The flag represents the nation, the government, the lands and the people. The insistance from so many that anything you say or do about the flag is directly related to the military is something thats beyond me.

Forcing someone to stand for the anthem is not respect. It is compliance. It is disrespectful to anyone who served in the uniform and against everything this country stands for.

 

You can disagree with the Anthem and still respect those fallen to give you the right to disagree.

I am agnostic however if i am at a family event or a friends house and they want to say grace i bow my head i dont say anything but i do bow my head.. Why? Respect for others.

I find it disturbing that there are so many people that does not know what the flag stands for, and also the many people that deny racism exists.. Or perhaps they think blacks are treated the way theyre supposed to be treated, like animals that should be put down.

The fact is, cops are people. Just as a certain percentage of people will be bad people, a certain percentage of cops will be bad people. Just as a certain percentage of people will suck at their job, a certain percentage of cops will suck at their job. The fact that there have been some cops who are poorly trained or just bad people who've done bad things doesn't mean that there's systemic prejudice against black people across the nation in dozens of police agencies.
White people get shot with little justification or mistakenly by cops all the time without massive protests or accusations of racism. Cops make mistake, but in general they got into their line of work to help people and attitudes being pushed by groups like BLM are doing nothing but discouraging people from getting into law enforcement and endangering the lives of the ones that are in that line of work.

 

MLK would be sickened by the so-called "leaders" of the BLM movement and the violence they've encouraged.

This is America. Where you have the right to offend and you have the right to be offended.

 

Personally, I find the kneeling to be a very respectful way to do this protest. The kneel in line with their team, they still honor the country, flag, and anthem, and they get to make their statement about whatever they are choosing to protest. I think the sitting is quite disrespectful, but it is their right to do so.

 

Criticize Kap all you want. Dupree said "IMO calling for punishment or forcing them to stand is scary". Do you see the distinction, or are you willfully missing the point?

 

I do not agree with this version of MLK that gets peddled around.

Everything people are saying about BLM now, they said about MLK then.
