Game over. Prayers for Hamlin. Only thing I've heard so far is that he had a pulse but cannot breathe on his own.

Screw Roger Goodell.
-
I assume this is due to how long the decision took. Sports leagues will always wait until after they make a determination on the health and condition of the player/athlete before making any decision. Then they'll consult the teams/athletes/coaches etc etc involved for a proper course of action. It takes time and they'll give those involved time to process and assess the situation themselves. Rather than looking for someone to blame how about we just give some thoughts and prayers to the young man in the hospital right now apparently fighting for his life rather than pointing the finger at Roger Godell for some odd reason. Have some decency and respect. What a stupid, senseless comment that should just be deleted. -
Lots of sports people collapsing these days with heart related issues. This was almost unheard of a few years ago. Kinda makes you wonder what's happened in the last couple of years that might be causing this type of thing. Hope he's OK and makes a full recovery.

I stand by what I said. -
It was reported this morning that both teams’ coaches and owners had already determined they weren’t going back out to play.
It was also reported the NFL (Goodell) said they never expected the players to go back out and finish the game.
Could be wrong, but it’s possible the delay in officially announcing the game’s postponement was due more to the focus being on Hamlin’s well being and not the status of the game.jdallen1222 and KeyFin like this. -

But at the same time, this brings the entire league to a standstill (which it should). If they call the game a tie, that's a nightmare and essentially penalizes the Bills (and possibly the Bengals if they were to lose next week). If they try to replay it this week or next week on a weekday, again, you're making two of the league's top teams play on a very short week just before the playoffs. The league has to make a decision and whatever they decide will not be popular. Personally, I think the right thing to do at this point would be to postpone the playoffs. -
Or is it that there was a virus that killed millions and ravaged peoples bodies even if they had a vaccine? Personally I lost my sense of smell for months with it, I’ve never had that happen before from a sickness. I’ve no idea what other damage it did while it was in me and thankfully I had all my jabs at the time.
Or are we wearing tinfoil hats and blaming it on the vaccine?
There have been numerous football (soccer) players that have dropped dead of a heart attack way before covid btw. -

Covid/vaccine never even crossed my mind personally. I know a lot of athletes take supplements...Yes...there are legal ones out there. But...Supplements, NOS boosters, energy boosters, etc. The side effects from these can be bad from my experience and these powders, pills, drinks, etc are everywhere these days. I'm older....When I was a kid we had Surge....Drink a Surge on a Friday night...Or a Jolt Cola. Nowadays there's an entire rack committed to energy drinks in each and every gas station in this country. I'm not saying an energy drink necessarily caused this, but we don't exactly fully know what is in all that crap from the supplements you can buy at GNC or Walmart to the energy drinks in the dollar store. People react differently to certain things. An energy drink these days puts my anxiety into hyperdrive. For others they drink an energy drink and are totally focused and getting **** done all day. Any time I've tried to add a supplement to a workout regime, I've had negative effects...Little ones...But I notice them.

I get emotions were running high for fans of every team when this happened, but I don't get the outrage. It was a terrible situation, but it was handled about as well as it could have been. Medical personnel did a great job doing what they needed to do quickly, and the game was suspended. What's the outrage over? That they didn't suspend it quick enough? Thankfully, this doesn't happen often! Their priority was on the player's health, and the rest took time to work out.
I'm not going to even dignify the conspiracy theory talk with a response.jdallen1222, firedan and StaleTacos like this. -
Not that I particularly want to see this Dolphins team back into the playoffs. Injuries have ravaged a pretty solidly built team and it's pretty disheartening to like this particular sport in the first place.
I don't know how the NFL fixes the logistics of this. They have no time to make up that game unless they make the Bills and Bengals play mid-week sometime. And then that means any attempt to give a **** about player safety is absolute BS.
They would have to have the Bills v Pats and Bengals v Ravens game played next week sometime. Which either means delaying the playoffs essentially giving all playoff teams a bye week or hindering all the teams that end up making the Playoffs. The Dolphins could beat the Jets and would have to wait until the next week to find out if they play on.
And why the eff wasn't the Dolphins v Bengals game postponed? Their most important player was carried off the field with a serious brain injury. None of the Dolphins knew if he'd be good when they were forced to play again.
Nothing the NFL does here will make them look good. They are screwed.Tuanon4Life and dolphin25 like this. -

What about all the Fantasy Sports and Gambling that the entire sports industry has sold their souls to support? How does that play into this? -

And as I highlighted the Dolphins could make the playoffs if the Bills beat the Patriots. Will that happen a week after Week 18? Will they care if they've locked up the Bye?
It also kind of eliminates the advantage of the #1 seed getting a bye if all teams except the Bills and Bengals get a bye the week before.
This is a cluster ****. -
The NFL peddles in violence and now it's facing a logistical nightmare because of it.
Remember when Tua has to play on four-days rest because Amazon, and he had a gruesome head-injury on the same field. Why wasn't that game called off?dolphin25 likes this.
