Well, I guess I'm gonna have to start thing darn thing. And it's about time. I know there's plenty of FinHeaven-ers out there that eat, sleep, and bleed scarlet and gray. This thread is for you. So get in here and let's talk Buckeyes!!!
First Topic: 2007 BCS National Championship Game [Ohio State (1)vs. Louisiana State(2)]
This game will be decided just like good ol' fashioned football was decided long ago. This game will be won in the trenches. Ohio State has one of the best offensive lines in the country. They will be taking on the LSU defensive front, anchored by All American defensive tackle, considered by most to be the top defensive prospect in this years coming draft, Glen Dorsey. The Buckeyes will look to take the running game to the outside as much as possible to avoid Dorsey. Sophomore Buckeye runner Chris Wells is best at just that. He can cut it to the outside like Clinton Portis. He can run you over like Steven Jackson. He can outrun you like Willie Parker. And he can find his nose to the endzone like Jerome Bettis. The Buckeyes will compliment their runnning game with many threats deep down field using playaction passes. OSU wide receivers practice against Malcolm Jenkins everyday. He will be considered the top CB prospect, in a very deep CB year, if he declares for the NFL draft this year. Buckeye WRs wont have trouble getting open at all, they never do.
Could someone please tell me how LSU plans to stop the Buckeyes, if they can't even stop Arkansas or Kentucky?

Alright, bout time for an OSU thread! I'm hoping Gholston has a big game (and declares so we can pick him).
As for the game, I think LSU is going to rely on their speed - they may not be as fast as Florida was a year ago (I've never seen a college team with that speed save the 2001 Miami Hurricanes) but they're going to be faster than us. If LSU can set the edge and consistently beat Boone and Barton, they're going to have a good day. I don't know of any interior DT's in the Big 10 that are as near as good as Dorsey, so Cordle and Person may have a rough go of it. I think it comes down to our O-line vs. their D-line, b/c their offensive skill players are as good or better than ours. Prediction, and it pains me to do this to the Buckeyes, but I'm a realist: LSU 27 Ohio State 17. -

3 trips to the national title in 6 years under JT
He is 1-2 vs SEC teams in bowls.
Can't wait for tonights game.
Go BUCKS!!! -
Which SEC team did he beat in a bowl? I thought OSU was 0-8 all-time vs the SEC or something like that?

I'm not seeing a win on this list... -
I could have sworn we beat S.Carolina 1 year.
lol whoops. Your right Dom my mistake. -
as well y'all know, I have no love for osu.. but I cannot imagine Tressel fielding an unprepared team again. They were caught with their shorts down by UF.. personally, I think they bought into the hype UF wasn't worthy. Somehow, I just don't see that happening again. Those guys on the team are willing to die not to have the stigma again.. I expect osu to come out ready at the bell... if LSU isn't ready from the first whistle, it may be to late to play catch up. Mostly, I look forward to watching the two kids WE have such great interest in.. lets hope for a quality game, with no injuries... Guex Tigers!

At halftime the game is being moved to Columbus.

I most certainly am saying that Willie Parker is faster then Chris Wells.
And people wonder why I dislike OSU fans. Objective? please. -
-
Id say for his size Wells is fast.
Can't wait for toooonight! -

lol Did Dboston really give us Buckeye fans a bad name? camon were all not that bad.
Could be worse we could be USC fans :P -
And no, buckeyes fans have had a bad name with me for a while, but especially since the NC game against Miami. That was the point of no return. -
GO BUCKS !!!!!
OH -
IO
Well to be fair no one gave The Bucks a chance in that game. -
NO
:001_rolleyes: -

lol Motion doesn't like us Buckeye fans .
BTW on the BTN their showing the Miami vs Ohio St game at 3 central -
Just an opinion.
I live in Ohio and I am not a fan of OSU directly because of the fans here. I figure each team has their share of "homers", but around here the crap gets deep quick. -
Although I wouldn't be a fan of OSU regardless of the fans, just because Penn State is better (the teams just don't know it ). -

Last night's game clearly shows why there is a need for a PLAYOFF system. Have a "Final Four" around the end of December, and the Championship game the following week. They could even have a "Final Eight" and play a couple weeks to decide a National Champion....what they have now is crap. :001_rolleyes:

The bottom line is the Big 10 is a weaker conference.... and while that is not Ohio State's fault, it artificially inflates the significance of their "undefeated" season in the past (or one or two losses this year).
Ohio State would have been better matched against Florida in the Capital One Bowl - probably would have made for a better game "the rematch". Have LSU play USC or Georgia in the title game (yes i know it is two SEC teams), and you'd have the two best teams in the country play each other. -

The Big Ten is bottom 3 IMO. ACC and Big east are right down with Big Ten IMO.
